I have finally had the time to make major progress on my Boxer restoration- amazing how the state shutting us down incentivizes!
I'll refresh my thread over the next few days.

Meanwhile, a quick question- where is the correct placement for the check valve? I am assuming that the logical point would just after the manifold vac port but before the mechanical vac pump. This would then maximize vacuum
from either manifold when it is higher or supplemetal mecanical when not.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks

This is where I found my my non return valve positioned. Maybe Newman can verify if this is the correct location? I'm looking forward to see your progress on the project.

I'll give F a low mark for not making this clearer in the SPCs for both Boxers and TR ;) -- your description for the needed functionality is correct:

I see that too, Ive seen them in both locations, if its further up the line there's no chance of losing vacuum through the pump. There is a check valve on the pump as well and make sure the arrow is pointing to the engine when you install the in-line one.

Yes this is how I installed it- makes a lot of sense- had been mis-installed previously on mine and I had trouble with poor brake assist. This should fix it.
