And The buyer of the BAT car had to pay $5000 in fees to BAT
I literally laughed out loud when I read the comment about the wheels holding back the sale of this car. And the clutch wear is right for an original clutch on a car that has spent its few miles crawling around lots and between shops. That’s where these clutches get killed, not actually driving the car. BAT car all-in at $108k is the current market on these cars. That was an excellent example, no paintwork, no stories. A new engine from Ferrari with warranty is a huge plus. And the $80k bill is very reasonable. I spent almost $100k at Ferrari Beverly Hills replacing the engine in my F430. It happens. So, this red salvage car with a 20-25% discount off from that sounds about right. Buy it, drive the hell out of it, and don’t worry about what piece of paper in your file cabinet says. Not everyone will see the value in this car, but it’s a great deal for the right person.
At this price it's basically parts value...and you get a running driving Ferrari with an Enzo based engine in front of you.
I keep coming back to this thread. I will envy whoever ends up with it. I'm not ready to get rid of the 612, otherwise this could be a very fun project.
OK For your reading pleasure. I would buy this car . Except .... ...that I already have a red / tan 599 with a salvage title. ... My car was water damaged, and I bought as salvage. But is fixed now. I don't really know what I have yet. As I've just gotten it. But it has a Novatec exhaust . And sits low. I don't know if it is an HPDE. But I am hoping. And I believe it was flashed. Because it is noticably faster than the base / stock 599 I had. So. This is the car that I wish was available when I was in the market. Because I have much more into my car now. Though it will be fun. And yeah. I'm kicking myself a little. This is a no brainer in my book. The salvage title means almost nothing in this case. It was just a tap. The new owner will be a lucky one. And hoping they hang out here. GLWS BTW I just remambered this. I drove my old one from Forida through the North Carolina mountains up to NYC and back. I love GTs.
I agree the BAT car was a fine deal, especially with the documented work done with some warranty remaining. I only hope when I am ready to pull the trigger on a 599 similar deals will turn up...yeah, I know, there's always one out there...
They may be but not in where. Thing is the safety of BaT and here is that many knowledgeable people ask questions one of us might not or might be delicate. The group vetting here and there is thorough. However here we can talk to each other and there not so much. SadLH, there are. It great deals on BaT but here, there is. Ink all cost for listing and selling. At this price, this 599 on BaT would be 5-7% more expensive to cover costs. For me, as an add on to my others rather than instead of one of them, this price is really tempting. Need to sell a manual m6 to create space .......
My point is simply put for your confusion the sales are better here. Many of us know each other. Information is free flowing. The vetting is nicer and there is no extra cost of the transaction such as the buyers fee on BaT. I’ve bought and sold cars on both places. I prefer here. This remains a good deal. Bad timing in the Ferrari market in general right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Daniel, as a 599 owner, I have watched with interest this thread from the beginning. The car looks great and I applaud your openness, transparency and the apparent quality of the repaired car. The car’s buyer will be rewarded with a wonderful experience at a great price.
I’m happy for you if it sells , however I’m really going to miss this thread as the entertainment value was over the top. Best of luck Daniel and thank you for the memories , Kirk.
Somebody is going to get a fantastic deal on an awesome car. If I was in a different situation, I'd offer to trade up my gated 360....interested in a gated 360?
