It was unusual enough to see an airliner sliding down the ILS today as I headed to Bunnings, but I had to do a double take because it looked like a Virgin 737. Sure enough, it was. I thought they were toast?! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Apparently not if 'our' Labor government has anything to do with it. Us Queenslanders may be part owners of this mob. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-13/coronavirus-queensland-government-stake-virgin-airlines/12244152 To answer your question though,it was placed in administration but still operating on a highly reduced scale.
Mate of mine went back to HKG on a Virgin 777 a week ago...Government subsidised with 11 people on board...$600 odd dollars return...
Thanks, Simon. I did just hear about the QLD government "offer". Are they mad?! Seriously, aren't you guys already in a ridiculous amount of debt? Hopefully you vote this bunch of corrupt, incompetent fools out at the upcoming election.
We're getting rid of 'em one by one,Jackie Trad (Vice Prem and Treasurer...nothing important) fell on her sword twice in the past 12 months and sacked herself a few days ago.
It’s a proper ILS. Only civilian one in SA. There is also one at Edinburgh. These days the RNAV / RNP approaches get you down nearly as low as an ILS, provided the aircraft has the equipment and the pilot is endorsed to use them.
