Anyone have this part laying around that they are willing to sell? It has a "mail slot" in it. Any color will do. They are commonly taken off carb cars to fit replacement exhausts. Ferrari part 60212107. Please PM me. Thx

Very much unavailable. Have one fabricated, very easy as it's a simple part.

Maybe Rob @ Carbonio can hook you up. I was talking to him about it on his car. I believe he had one laser cut with notches to clear the later exhaust, and he kept the original.

He mentioned this because one of the cars I was looking at didn't have the original piece there ('77 GTB)

I am in the process of making a template to have fabricated of aluminum for my '79 US spec. PM me if you are interested and I could have extras made up.

My goal is a bolt on replacement for the ever popular diper. My plan is to have the valance extend down a little more and have cutouts for the exhaust as opposed to going strait across. I must admit the look strait across looks pretty good. You may want to compare to the valance on a 288 GTO.

If you make it to replace a diaper it won't fit an original 77 car. I'm also looking for one but Newman has a 77 in his shop and I took some measures and pics but not enough. I asked him to take all the measures when he will take it off the car.

RJR89 Do you have the lower grill?

You mean your car has a diaper and you want to replace it but keep your stock exhaust. I'm not sure this is possible. Isn't the diaper there to clear the bigger exhaust that protrude out back? The pictures I provided are from a stock 77 which never came with a diaper. They had no catalytic converters but thermoreactor mufflers instead and they fit dehind that lower grill.

True. My plan is not really to just replace the diaper. It will use the same bolt holes for support. I am really just looking for a simple solution to a more Euro look as I run a Tubi.

I do kind of like the lower mesh. Hmmm.

That's interesting, my original from '77 #21039 does not look like that.

well, I just noticed this '80 on eBay. And further studying the image, it is perhaps an after market exhaust. Not a perfect fabrication, but a good start and I think the piece should have been painted red.

I purchased that part, years ago from FerrariUK Classic parts, along with the matching trim plastic oval.

    Not cheap.

See if TRutlands or FerrParts can help, with a legit used part.

I can have Valeria's shop take run at making one, if you strike out.
The part is painted body color...

Beautiful picture of the early style valance on that yellow car.

Any exhaust even aftermarket should exit below that panel, thru the perforated metal shroud.

Although a hack job was the reason I needed one.
    Some people.....

    That's very nicely done!

I have done a few "quick fixes" in the past with the mesh cloth, but now trying to get closer to the OEM stagger slotted shroud.

A lot of tip dimensions vary, I think the reason so many are gone.

Do you have any progress on that project. What is the most difficult part of it?

George this is not the exhaust from my car (22063) but I got it from the 77 Newman is restoring which I also took the pictures of the rear panel. What is the differences with yours?

    Hey everyone,

This is a shot in the dark but did anyone ever sort out a solution for this rear letterbox slot for a 77 308? I am in the market for one. Thanks!

For those of us with the USA-spec rear valence (a.k.a. the "diaper"), fabricating a replacement is a pretty common DIY project. Do a search on this forum, as many folks have already done this and have posted pics.

    For example, here's mine:
