Keep in mind the buyers of these cars are likely still gainfully employed and likely in a financial position to not have to fire sale.

There is little dispute that with the economy in virtual shutdown and reopening will be a gradual process, many are being severely financially impacted and will be for the near future. For those who are in fiscally healthy positions and are buyers of exotic cars, the ubiquitous discussion about car depreciation, and disappearing values has diminished the excitement and pleasure derived from owning these cars. I propose the narrative which has focused on the economics of car purchasing and ownership shift to the enthusiasm we all share about owning and driving our state of the art vehicles. Lets hear about the driving experiences from those who have taken delivery of their new cars. Stimulate discussion about comparative models and the manner in which they differ and contrast from others. I am simply suggesting we lighten up, realize how fortunate we are and revel in the excitement these cars engender.

Unless there is a quick snapback, every buyer of every luxury product will hesitate. Most rich people have conscience, and will not want to flaunt wealth if we are in a depression.

Global depressions are by definition impossible to quickly snap out of. Ferrari pricing will be far more resilient to breaking down versus McLAREN or Aston. But it too like all things will eventually break down.

We have never seen a global depression - lets hope/pray we do not see it. It will not be an easy time.

For me, nothing like driving a SF for thirty minutes on back roads for escaping the lockdown. I do it three times a week and it helps keep my blood pressure in a healthy range

 

No modern skateboards are nearly as exciting as the skateboards of old. However, the hybrid powered skateboards on the horizon do hold some promise.

Why would anyone buy a 4 figure skateboard when the $100 versions are just as easy not to ride and easier not to own. Those who purchase the expensive ones do it to be noticed.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post like:

“hey congrats on the car!”
“I drove the car and man did it feel great”
“The acceleration was amazing- very powerful”

it’s always negative ********, or talking smack about someone else’s choice.

 

He has offended many here so what’s the problem?
