Bill- We are all waiting for that to happen. Tennessee is opening some businesses on the 27th, most on the 1st.
Good idea Carl....poor 3269 no celebration ): I'm going out for a drive right now ....get those miles
Can I refresh this thread….I’ve noted I love high mileage stories and especially have liked @Clyde Romero thread as well. I was looking at my general notes and was reminded how several heavy hitter contributors are in SoCal…. @fatbillybob @wbklink @darth550 Are there other good ones I’m missing? if there ever is a Maranello milestone party/get-together in LA I would love to fly down….. a few of us in the Bay Area continue to try and put a “V12 fun drive” together @Il Tifoso @losgatos789 @root and myself.
Barry, very consistent use or are you also doing some big drives like Clyde? Any memorable road trip stories to share?
I second that! The quality is unreal. It just goes perfectly year after year after year after year after year and hopefully into eternity. I have 165.500 kms. so I have actually just passed the 100.000 miles point. No celebration at 160, but back in 2015 when these were at a peak, I bought a Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa to not put too much miles (kilometers) on the 550. But guess what, I sold it and instead spent more money on the 550 as it feels so great and solid... love the fact that you're using it. I bet it has a good life in Cali! My 2002 XK8 came from Sacramento and it was and is still completely rust free after 140.000 miles. Post some more pictures of it please!
Eric, That mileage is the result of consistent use and ~11,000 track miles that the previous owner and I put on the car. Barry
You are still some trips to Vegas behind my dad's 2009 E200 CDI. It runs just fine. Interior looks almost like new. So guys saying a Ferrari is a "driver" at 30.000 miles... Come on!! It is broken in, but not much more. Image Unavailable, Please Login
thats a great idea lets try to put together a 550/575 party this summer some where we could include the 456 crowd as well since they are kissing cousins to the 550/575 you think Austin would work ?
Clyde, Austin is a good suggestion. What about timing it with the F1 race at COTA (Oct 21-23)? I am starting to make plans to go to the race. This would give me an excuse to drive rather than fly from VT!
Steve not trying to throw water on your idea, having been to that race it’s not worth it. I go to the MONTRÉAL GP every year for the last 30 plus. Much better venue. You will find the US GP hotels over priced and the TV screens are very small, lots of issues with parking. You are so close to MONTRÉAL go there ! Anyway that’s my take on it. With regards to the 456/550/575 roundup. I feel we need to stay away from a major event which drives hotel rooms crazy. We could meet in Kansas City which is central to everyone and on major interstate routes. Good food and lots to do. Time frame to allow planning I would suggest late July after the 4 th to early August before Labor Day. Or we could do regional meets, your area for leaf season as well as mine in the Atlanta area. Out west guys up in the northwest as well Washington,Oregon area, or Southern California These are just thoughts. I say for the first one we make it Kansas City it’s central to the country, but I am open to any and all suggestions. I await any and all reply’s gentlemen. i feel we have some momentum here so let’s capitalize on it. Clyde
