What's the legal status of that car? (I assume it is in US?) Too young for the 25 year exemption so was it DOT/EPA certified?
It's a well known issue with Ferraris from that era. 355/456/550/575. I do not know the reason but unfortunately it's no uncommon.
Yes the car is currently sitting in my shop. The car came down from Canada about a year ago. I'm working on this right now with the DMV etc. if I cannot legally sell the car it will be withdraw for sale and if it can be and fees involved seller will cover those.
I think you had a friend with a red euro barchetta...we went on a rally in Rockland county many years ago...That Barchetta sticks in my memory like video..it had tan hoops and dash..Barchettas are timeless...I still want one.
Yup. He still owns it. I last saw it 3 years ago. I adore the barchetta. I would love a yellow/blk one!
This car is just a perfect color combo for me. Looks like the wrinkle is only on the airbag, I wonder how difficult it would be to redo it. I had a wrinkle on top of the dashboard in my 575SA, LFSC repaired it for $5k a couple years ago.
2 months ago I would be all over this car, now, with my company dead in the water and dwindling resources I have to be very careful with my spending. Also have a guaranteed allocation for GT Black Series and will have to take it even if have to sell my kidney for it (made a complicated transaction at large expense to me just to secure that allocation).
These are very special cars. This is a rare color combo and the fact that you have the helmets makes this an even better buy! Nearly all 550 Barchetta's will need the mouse hair-like fabric addressed at some point. The cost to repair the leather dash/airbag cover will vary but really not a big cost if you base it on the % of what the vehicle is worth. GLWS
What a beauty. Unfortunately out of my league. Can anyone shed some light into the Dot/epa certification process? I am interested in importing an F430 and would greatly appreciate any info. Thank you in advance!
Call JK Technologies in Baltimore, MD. May not be worth doing on a 430, but they can tell you. Good luck. Mike
US and Canada cars were identical in 2001 and all imported by FNA. The only real difference is the instruments are in metric and the lights may be wired on full time.
I’ve owned this one for years. Simply amazing! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If this car didn't have the Scuderia shields, I'd have to add this to the others. Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
