F8 vs Pista sound

I have Pista and spent some good quality time with F8. I think the F8 sound inside the cabin is better than Pista sound. I think the pipe they use to bring in the sound with the F8 works. It gives you more engine sound- more of the buzz saw/ mechanical kind of sound. The Pista is louder from the exhaust, but I find it a bit monotone and dull until you are about ⅔ of the way through the rev range- however at this point I have to say the sound is exciting! (also likely because the Pista is so rabid fast and feels it!). So in terms of sound, I think the F8 is a nice improvement for the people inside the cabin.

 

765LT coupe sales have been tepid. May reduce output from 765 units to 500. Sign of these uncertain times. The car should be very special.

 

Its a shame because as you say the car looks like a spectacular performer.

 

What’s your source for this reduced quantity possibility? It’s something I’ve been wondering about and wouldn’t be surprised if they end up producing more spiders than coupes.

 

It undoubtedly will be a spectacular performer and perhaps the last of it’s kind.

 

No because there is nothing subtle about the difference between the two. IMO far into the future you would want the most outrageous sounding factory car to highlight the difference between the present and the past. The NA V12 would be the ultimate choice.

 

Met a guy this weekend that chipped his brand new F8 with the increase to HP close to 1000 (per his claim) and a full aftermarket exhaust (not sure which one). That F8 sounded a lot better than stock F8 but it was a weird melody. Definitely not a typical Ferrari sound. Just my opinion.

Its possible but there is a fair amount of work to do in order to run it reliably. To me, it doesn't make sense. If I was going to mod a car I would start with a 488.

 

A jump of 300 hp for a flash tune? Someone is dreaming.....or has been seriously played.

It would be over boosted to get anywhere close and something would break. A more realistic number is in the 100HP range which also could have some issues. Even if it did make 1000HP I doubt it could put it to the ground until 3rd gear.

 

Agree 100hp would be tops if that. I think this guy needs to come clean before the BS flag is raised.

 

There are a few videos of the car on Instagram, one of them screaming through a tunnel – it sounds loud & very high-pitched. The exhaust/tune is by Gintani.

Don’t have one. I stay out of the social media fray. Someone said that they found a video of this all black F8. Maybe they can post it here. I do not know the owner very well and I was out with my Pista when I met him and those are the claims he made to me. Gintani was also mentioned so it must be the same person.

Agree - Gintani very hokey! Never heard a Pista sound so terrible. I'd put it back to stock rather than put up with that. Listen at @ 7 mins on. Sounds like popcorn cooking plus he gets smoked badly by the 720 all the time so it would appear their tune is rubbish as well....



This must be the F8.....would sound like ass if it's the same pipe as their Pista pipe.
