    FWIW..
The small 10mm bolts and washers that hold the front valance (pictured) to the front frame aren't necessarily yellow cad. On car 52935, the last BBi built (and never restored), those bolts and washers are painted black. And, if one looks at the parts book, they're supposed to be slotted machine bolts/screws. However, I've never seen a BBi with that configuration. Thoughts?

They are yellow zinc before they get painted black with a brush by the guy at the end of the line. He / she blacks out a lot more than just those. Carb'd boxers had slotted screws and I use that term loosely because someone will come forward with an 81 that has M6 bolts.

I would like to propose that a single sticky thread encompassing all of Pauls work and projects be put in the boxer section, and the standing threads be transferred there. Call it whatever he likes "Paul's Passion" , "Newman's No Nonsense Restorations", "Restauro di Paolo"???
The information is first class, the attention to detail is second to none. This wealth of knowledge, needs to be front and centre for any reference to a BB restoration. Well deserved recognition.
Moderators can do the rest. All those in favour say ....?

So, just to double check and to be sure:

The carbed BB had slothead screws to hold the front bumper? They supposed to be painted black after installation?

Ar they the same, like on the fuel filler?

    What about the rear bumper?

    Thank You so much!

Yes the hardware was the same but clear zinc first, a shallow screw with a head diameter and thickness you can't buy just anywhere unfortunately. The screws that hold the plastic panels down under the headlight buckets are the same, again painted black at some point near the end of assembly along with several other fasteners to take away the bling effect.

They look a little thick but they'll do. Ive bought some from Newco before which are close but not exact and they're stainless rather than zinc plated. Ive bought others that are thicker but look wrong again. I think the main thing is its a slot screw and most wont care about the small details.
