The lighting stalk switch on My 84 QV has gone 'floppy. Everything works as normal (raise lights, main beam etc except the part of the switch that turns on the foglights. It's very floppy, no real resistance or 'click'. It has assumed the position of the foglights always being on. To solve the problem I jam something between the steering wheel and the switch to ensure the fog lights stay off when I'm not driving.

Also, the washer switch has never worked (the wipers do though).

I've attached pictures the steering column after I've removed the retaining nut fans the steering wheel. Where do I go from here to further diagnose and fix the problem? I don't want to undo things I don't have to.

    Help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers, rick

On a related note, I just put direct power to the leader on the windshield washer pump and nothing happened. Any ideas how to fix this, or where to get a replacement pump would be greatly appreciated.

    Mr. FIAT has pumps.

    hey FERRARI friend,,,,

be VERY careful when reinstalling your steering wheel.
BE sure that the two “engagement
‘ black plastic tabs line up with the wheel..

    good luck. EDUARDO

Thanks for the advice Eduardo. Regarding Mr. Fiat... do you mean that the pump is a standard Fiat part?

Mr Fiat has expanded his store to include some Ferrari parts.

also, that pump might be an 80’s bmw part,,, like our mirror switch.

    good luck,

I’ve seen this problem before. It’s very likely a soldering / contact issue. Verell has fixed a good amount of them.
