Well years in the waiting and still probably a few years earlier than ideal, I pulled the trigger. 1999 Ferrari F355 with 18K miles and looks to be perfect. We'll see soon. Taking delivery this Saturday. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's a beautiful F355, Jimi. Congratulations! Drive it in good health. And welcome to the forum! Barry
Thanks, and I agree. I was looking for condition first, but this was my top pick color combo for a classic like this. Many I’m sure will disagree, but for me, it’s the last “real Ferrari” look. I don’t care if it turns into a collectible, I’ll cherish this forever.
Congrats!!!! I own the same car, but mine is a 97. Wrenching on it myself is almost as much fun as driving it. Enjoy the journey.
I plan on doing the wrenching myself too. That's one of the cool aspects of these cars - they need us (kind of). Owning a Tesla Model S was fun, but way to sterile. I felt like the car didn't give a crap about me and wanted to just drive off by itself if it could. I've rented several 355's and really put them through the paces to make sure this is what I want...it is.
Congrats, and welcome to the brotherhood. I went with the same color combo but a 95 to stay OBD 1, As said these cars are fun to drive and also are easier to work on than a much newer car. I cant imagine ever selling it.
I just got it Saturday, of course it rained Sunday so kept it indoors. Absolutely beautiful car and the loudest best sounding one I've ever heard! I feel a little self conscious when trying to escape the neighborhood without rattling windows and having the neighbors call the cops for sound ordinance violations. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Such beautiful cars! Oh, by the way from one “first Ferrari owner” to another - don’t overfill the oil...don’t ask me how I know. I used a turkey baster to get the 1.5 “extra” quarts I put in in thinking that reading the manual was enough. Manual says run it until hot, shut it off then check. Did that and that’s what got me in trouble. Real technique (after doubling my research) - Drive it until hot with some high revs thrown in, then check it while running to get accurate reading. Failure to do this could lead to engine damage.
Pinnacle Peak is about 20 min away. We’re in N. Scottsdale though. Such a perfect area for exotics. Dry, warm weather year round, and a Ferrari dealer just down the road.
Sure thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
