So I finally was able to get most of the manual parts to convert my car to a stick shift! I purchased this car 2 years ago as a project with the intent to convert it. I Know my car was going to be a big project because it was poorly maintained and needed a lot of care. It start with just the basic tune up and also had some f1 issues. I found out about after a few months that the heat exchanger was bad and had antifreeze in the trans. Not happy because I had no idea how long it was like this. So first major job was the heat exchanger replacement. Afterwords it’s been nothing but issues with the f1 system. I’ve also been converting it to a CS. All exterior finished except mirrors. Have molds and working on fabricating them.
Since we are all in the situation with the virus and have all this time, I figured I would get started with the interior portion and removal of the trans. After I had the issue with the heat exchanger and fixed most of the issues with the F1 system I was getting gear grinding in all gears, I new my trans was toast. So after pulling the trans apart I found that the synchros were toast! I was able to find the 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th synchros but nothing with 5th/6th. Factory closed for now and don’t now how long it will be before parts are released. ( if any one has one laying around....let me know ).
I’ll post some pics of the progress. I also am having the clutch re-lined with Kevlar. I ordered a new throw out bearing for the manual. So as soon as I get the clutch back I’ll get that in.
As for the interior, I ordered the alcantara for the interior. My mother was a seamstress and I figured this would be a great time for her also since were all stock inside and would keep her busy. I removed all interior and will start to scrape all of the underpayment off.

Dude you have some serious skills. Jealous, of course.
Please let us know how that install and run goes when you're done. Few people have good results with a kevlar clutch on this car

Were only your synchros damages? I had some coolant go into my transmission as well from the Heat xchanger, replaced, wondering what the extent of the damage might be. Am hearing some occasional grinding in 3rd gear.

Really looking forward to a success story here. Although mine will stay F1 at this time. I am also curious about your source for parts, especially that third pedal.

yes just the synchros were bad. I’m replacing the bearings as well since I’m in there. I don’t want to pull the trans again! Not for awhile anyways.

Perhaps think about making a sand cast or some other form of casting of the pedal and trans linkage. They can be reproduced and sold to lots of people.

I’m not joking, I know things are a little crazy in Jersey right now but if you could give those parts to a guy that owns a CNC machine.... well, I’m sure I don’t need to help you with the math.

You know that European Road and Racing have already done this. See here:

    I think EAG has too.

I had to make my own clutch pedal in CAD for my 612. PM if anyone decides they need one. They're a lovely desk ornament if nothing else!

Lmao. It’s actually not that bad capered to most vehicles.

Mirrors are on hold until I get the trans back in. I need to find someone to make the swivel part also.

I'm still choosing between a 456M manual, and converting a 612. I've spoken with Art and he has the technical specs to do a 612, but he hasn't done one yet.

So that could be a good part. I'll keep it in mind.

The floors will get the black trim color though-out just like the CS.
I ended up using and plumbers touch to heat up the soundproofing and a wood chisel to scape it off. Then some paint prep solvent to get the reaming glue off. Worked like a charm. Prior to this I was actually trying to remove it with no heat and realized it would have taken me days!
