OK, to put the cards face up, my friend was a passenger in an ATV that rolled over early Saturday morning, she returned to Houston, and was seen in TMC that night.

Because of COVID demands there's not a hospital system in Houston that will fix her break, inpatient surgery, and it's overlapped, and complete. Will need surgery to install a brace??

I need an equipped facility (I have built them) that can do an invasive surgery outside of the inpatient setting.

She's an RN I thought she had it handled.
But no, today she's turning interesting colors.

She has other esophageal and spine damage, three broken ribs not displaced, dislodged shoulder but first things first this bone has to get done.
    Anyone?

I don't want her to die.
I can forward the xrays to a cell phone.....TIA

I could also give you her FB page, they are there but so far none of the referrals has panned out.
I will go get the imaging...note dislocated shoulder.

I think the first ER that did not admit her was remiss.
But it's the one she WORKS in, and they were totally booked with COVID cases, six floors three days ago...

I would think you need to look for a surgeon rather than a facility and let the surgeon schedule it. You may have luck if it can be done on an outpatient basis.

I did this 20 years ago racing motorcycles. They told me to just let it heal as is - which I did. I have a small permanent knot where the bones healed but no other issues. Best wishes.

That's what I suggested, the ER is not going to work for this.

She was actually booked for surgery tomorrow and some kind of State Edict has cancelled ALL surgery??
    WTF???

I the forth grade I snapped both bones in my forearm and they did indeed heal crooked and straighten over time, but they touched together!!
As you see we are working with a heck of a gap there!

None of her ribs are displaced and much like my recent wreck I don't have real concerns over those bridging the small gaps.
Thanks so much for the feed back guys.

She's in huge pain of course...me, I'm just scared for her, sepsis, gangrene, internal bleeding this could go to &^%*&^% by sunrise...

Does she have a break in the skin with exposed bone? If not these are not concerns with the exception of bleeding...there is a major artery running under the clavicle (subclavian). There is also a potential risk of pneumothorax so it should be immobilized at the very least.

    No it is NOT compound...

The thought came to me to try to match up the ends with traction, but I really don't know her well enough yet, to tie her down, and stretch her (sideways so the bone lays in).
But also immobilizing it would help.

    Lots of duct tape??
In the last video I notice drooping eyelids, loss of skin color, just some visuals her initial shock has worn off and she is fading.....

That shattered vertebrae (in the third CAT scan frame) made me cry.

I cracked three in my wreck but they did not frag, like that.
In fact they just fused back without surgical intervention, but lots of study.

It seems she has made some problems with the staff, so apologies for that...her base meds (at home) are eyebrow raising.

So hoping she is out of your hair soon and I will speak to her strongly about abusing "my friends"!!!
You saved her from continued pain and torment, which with her remaining injuries are ongoing.

Rotator cuff next I am assuming.
Or you could rip in to that spine work and show her REAL pain!!!

Well, this is a pretty quiet corner these days compared to the Subscribed Sections but u2fast most likely saved her life, or at least started her down the road to recovery.

I really DON'T have a dog in this hunt, knew her tangentially thru the Ducati scene (which she just joined)…..she's hugely hurt in other areas, but the jagged bones dancing around in her shoulder looked like Job #1 to me, and the Covid 19 Rules have all but paralyzed the larger Hospital chains.

So she's resting at home, crying in self pity that life could go so wrong for her.
If she wanted to take her mind off of pending divorce, I guess this would do it!

Maybe I can get a deal on the Ducati...
    :D :D :D

No, I'm taking flowers I cut in front of the Leasing Office ...and some Ducati posters I had, from my Under The Bed Poster Sale up in FerrariAds.
And I spent $10 to get that Crash Report, out of Abbeville LA Sheriff Department...…..

"3AM, we were spot lightning 'dem gators out there.....then Life Light could not land, not enough dirt, all water and trees ….and then.....and then...…"
Might be a new thread, or maybe we should let the curtain fall on this one....

Oh, her self published book with have four more chapters at least...…..

It does show a really great thing about (some) of the people here!
    Wax is on The List....

I have her videos from all of this she definitely wasn't fooling...she made the Lafayette to Houston run in a little over 2 hours, in the rain, in her Mustang,
I have not extrapolated the speed but she said she parked the needle on 115MPH and let it run......

It was before the Road Blocks went up, but there are License Tag cameras at The Line.
