Exept 812 TDF version, are you sure to be exited by the brand new future F cars ? If you re exited by a kind of SF 90 concept, why not ! If you like sound and mechanics cars, you re wasting your time and your money...
Yup totally see your point, only issue is here in Canada its such a limited supply of cars so you are literally looking for scraps and hoping something good pops up. Hunting an CS360 right now..
I think the mules you refer to are measuring exhaust noise for new EU regulation compliance. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/07/30/mercedes-amg-exhausts-get-quiet/ https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40111-018-0010-7 though I do not have confirmation, chances are good Ferrari has a derogation on phase 2 (68db) regulation until 2021... I do not think an 812VS will require any street testing per se because it will largely be a body kit with an updated engine and the engine can be put into any 812 chassis without being the least bit noticeable. It has to be significantly more expensive than the SF90 though - otherwise the "limited - exclusive" motto doesn't make sense... which does not leave much possibility for a reasonable (or, would I dare say, sensible) pricing.
Its simple actually. Pick a reasonable number for the amount of 812VS units your dealer will be getting. Lots of ways to derive this. Lets say its 7. Then ask the dealership new car sales director if there is any way possible to beat out the 8th person on that list. When you learn that these folks routinely get offered hypercars and buy a dozen cars a year you'll understand why you wont be getting one. Especially the most expected Ferrari since LdM promised. Don't worry though. It will have that Manzoni look so not such a disappointing loss. Will go like stink with many special bits though. Aftermarket for well over $1M has your name on it.
I say the opposite. I think its far more fun to have the car just as I imagine it than buying someone else's vision, and dealing with all the nonsense in the markets, but in either of our cases, its simply our preference- to which we are entitled.
I will struggle to pay 1.8 mill for an 812 without roof. I am not in that acquisition power category, but thanks for the suggestion
