Selling my 1956A Spyder Replica built in 2002 by Thunder Ranch of El Cajon CA. I am a collector and bought this beautiful car in early November of 2019 sight unseen and shipped it out to Seattle. The car was owned and on display at a Porsche Dealership in Pennsylvania for about 10 years before I bought it. The pictures show how remarkable this example is, please don't think of it as a "kit car", this is a professional built work of art (and ALOT less than an original). I have about $30,000 above the original cost in Dealer receipts for upgrades and "sorting", this car was somebody's open checkbook baby. There is no top, heater, windows, pretty much a cars and coffee/ weekend cruiser. At 6'2" 220 I simply do not fit as well as I had hoped. Info below, Asking $46,500.

I tried to make a short video but cannot seem to figure out how to download here, site says something like "invalid extension mp4". If anyone wants it (about 5mb), send me a PM with your e mail.
This little Porsche is some really good garage art + gets more attention than my other cars and no haters, purely Analog machine. At 1300lbs and 180HP, it goes pretty good too. I tyhink that the original 550 (that currently trades at around 4 mil.) only had about 115hp. This one has a stiffer chassis and modern Audi Disc Brakes in all 4 corners with cross drilled rotors and modern, larger wheels/Tires so it stops/ handles as good as it scoots! I would say that if I were one size smaller, I would fit much better though. Probably anyone under 6' 195lbs would fit well. I even removed the seat slider to pick up some room but still no Bueno.

Had one of these for a while with a built Subaru Flat-4 EJ25 and it was a ton of fun. Far from feeling safe in that thing even when driving next to an SUV but besides that, it was an experience every time I took it out.

    Hi,
This Spyder is a replica (an extremely good one) and is made of fiberglass on a tube chassis. It is more rigid with much better brakes and about 60 more horsepower than one of the 95 built back in 1955-56. The original ones are trading between $4 and 6 million dollars and are probably too valuable to race/drive for most people. This one is pretty much about fun and celebrating a bygone era, also garage art.
I went to a local go kart track today (closed due to the pandemic but owned by a good friend) and took a couple of more pictures, enjoy!

I raced on that track years ago when I had my company in Bellevue. Super fun.

I've always wanted to grab one of these and drop a Boxster engine/transmission into it- would fit fairly well. Beautiful looking car as is!

They run water cooled motors in these all the time. It's not hard.

Thx. Didn't know. Forgive my cheeky reply. And sorry for the temporary derailment.

Personally,... I like it the way it is.

Back to the car on offer,... which is spectacular!

I too prefer the air cooled motors even if they are no where bear as powerful and have the shelf life of milk comparatively to its water cooled counterparts

Looks great! Can I ask a few questions? How much does it weigh? When cornering, does the car feel under "tired" or over "tired" (meaning do tires feel it gives too little or too much grip)? Does engine require anything special/unusual for regular maintenance or where you need to take it for service; what are the service intervals? How difficult/time consuming is it to keep interior and exterior so clean?

Why is it that the last two special cars I've bought have come from the PNW, about the furtherest distance from where I live?!!

    Thanks and GLWS.

P.S. Please post video of car being driven, would love to hear the engine on song.

Some of your questions answered above...

I'm with you about location,... I am in SoFL as well. I would've gone for a look if it was local.
