Hi all, We have our 2012 FF for a few months now, and are enjoying it throroughly. Last week, the driver side window operating system died. We installed a new unit in the door 2 days ago and re-assembled everything meticulously. The window worked well again, but the dash keeps saying 'AVH system failure' and 'airbag failure' since we did the repair. We are sure that we plugged the door's airbag 'pinbox' (English is not my mother tongue, so don't know all words) in well. We have attached the car to a (general, so not Ferrari) diagnose system, and no faults came up. We have disconnected the battery this morning, re-connected it and followed the steps as described in the user manual, but no change. The car has always been on the trickle charger when it was garaged. It was on the trickle charger in the past few days too, and the charger shows a full battery. With the Covid-19 lockdown at the moment, visiting our dealer is not an obvious thing to do. Any suggestions on how we can try solving this? Thanks!
Atleast on other makes AIRBAG and ABS usually doesnt show up on general OBD2 readers, probably why you cannot see a fault code
Was the battery disconnected during the repair procedure, or did you unhook the window/door harness while the battery was connected? (Also, a generic ODBII tool will only diagnose mandated codes. There are many, many Ferrari codes which that type of tool will not help you with.)
You have to disconnect the battery before you mess with the airbag in the door. As it is now, you need a more sophisticated tool to reset the airbag light.
Anytime you have an airbag fault, you will get the AVH system failure warning displayed. Once you fix and delete the airbag fault the AVH warning will go away. If you disconnected the airbag in the door and then turned the key on, you logged a fault in the airbag system. The only way to erase the fault is with a Ferrari specific diagnostic tester.
