2022, maybe. I think it will become obvious that until there is a treatment or a vaccine there is no way governments will allow international travel or events with large crowds - even if they relax their own respective self-isolation rules. F1 is not important enough to risk a flare up of cases.
The British Open (golf) has been cancelled. The BO was set to take place at Royal St. George’s in Sandwich, England July 16 to July 19. This is a little surprising. This would be easy to hold with no spectators,... and social distancing of competitors would be simple to maintain.
That's why I was surprised they cancelled the Eurovision: Could have been held without audience and with social distancing in the TV studios. Cue in Zoom.

This is very very real.................we know there will be more. I only hope for the best for anyone or their family/friend dealing with this. I have colleagues who have very little issues and another in hospital.
Happy to see this as well. Was reading about this last night. Also a pay raise for NHS workers is due.
Too right NHS workers deserve footballers wages , this virus is what nightmares are made of, I hope Boris can fight it off, the sudden down turn in his recovery is very worrying, no matter who you are it seems this vile bastard virus is ruthlessly aggressive and takes no prisoners.
Oh man, sometimes I feel very ashamed of Italians... Berlusconi donated 10 Million euro to build the emergency hospital with 200 ICU beds but some left celebritries are saying sheet just because the guy is successful...
Bill Gates interview on CNBC. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/09/bill-gates-schools-will-reopen-in-the-fall-but-economy-wont-revert.html (The full interview is towards the end of the link. Comment in last 90 seconds of interview) Large scale sporting events not worth the risk "until we're back in normal times" I tend to agree. Unless F1 can make the economics work for all interested parties with no fans, 2021 is at risk as well IMHO.
I cant see any sporting events with spectators this year; anywhere in the world. As restrictions get gradually lifted, mass gatherings would I suspect be the last to get lifted. You even have commentary about places like New Zealand keeping their borders closed until a vaccine is available etc, so easy 1 year! With this sort of commentary around the world; what politician is going to allow mass travel/ gatherings anytime soon? Trump probably; but what can you say there!!! We might see some closed events; but when is any country going to open its borders to the travelling circus that is F1???
Will any fan risk being in a large crowd, no vaccine available, maybe a 'treatment' but still able to catch and spread this virus?? Enter a commercial airliner?? Very difficult questions.
Even in the midst of this pandemic, I saw, maybe, 100 cars parked to walk down to a creek which had recently been filled with water from a rain storm. Apparently, the youngsters have not gotten the word.
From the description,... I'm picturing a narrow trail in and out... in that setting with 2 way traffic,.... no bueno (even assuming proper distance at the end). In South Florida,... all beaches are closed. Easy to maintain social distance at our abundant wide beaches,... but a significant percentage of the population are not compliant. People end up in grocery stores,... common spaces,... and disease spreads. That's the harm. Have to minimize "non-essential".
