It's not a gated car, it has paddles.

So many ads list 360's and 430's as manual when they are F1's. It's like they're trying to trick us into believing it's a deal. The only way I've reliably seen to determine if the car is actually gated is to see the stick shift in a picture. Otherwise, I assume it's F1.

I just did a search. What reason is there that edits are not allowed after 60 minutes? I'm on lots of forums and I've never seen this rule. And this is a perfectly good example of why it's important to be able to edit.

While I was looking, I noticed that CNC motors dropped the price of the two gated 6 speed F430s they have...by $60,000 each. Both resell red, both look to be in excellent condition. One of them very low mileage. $170K vs $230K before. The times they are a changing.

But 170k was still a pretty high price really.

When listing on AutoTrader, "6-Speed Shiftable Automatic" is one of the transmission options so it would be nice if sellers chose that for F1 360/430.
When searching, AutoTrader lets you select "Automatic" or "Manual" (not more specific than that).

I don’t care what the ad says...in the picture with the steering wheel you can clearly see the paddles. Case closed.

That depends on what you paid for one before the world changed.

Funny how the paddles are nearly always shown in the last couple of shots ..do they really think people are so dumb?

Similar thing in UK..they also 'forget' to say its a LHD car ..then you see a ton of pics before revealing it on the last ones. Then you get the double whammy paddles and wheel on the wrong side LOL

And I assume you have proof?

Come on, do you also have black helicopters circling your home?

Far easier to believe it was an accident. The people placing the ads are typically administrative types working from poorly produced notes.

This reminds me of my search for a gated manual way back when. It was frustrating because EVERYONE listed their F1 cars as having a “manual” transmission, I assume, to show off that they knew our cars actually had automated manual transmissions. It drove me crazy because I had to look at 1000s of pics to see whether the car had that tall silver stick with a round ball, or buttons and a tiny T handle. After nearly a year, I finally found one.

My proof is the ad. The seller clearly input "6 speed manual" which everyone knows commands a premium then conveniently left out pictures of the transmission tunnel so everyone would call him to confirm.

Has nothing to do with black helicopters. It's not a conspiracy. It's just a dishonest trick.

My proof is years of working in dealers and knowing the people and process of placing the ads. Lots of mistakes get made. Assuming they are all out to get you is a far bigger statement about you than them.

Ha, I dealt with this constantly when I was shopping for my 3 pedal gated stickshift manual 6 speed.....technically, the F1's are 6 speeds, and they are the same exact transmissions with a different shifting mechanism... and them stating them that way hits our funny bones since we have been accustomed to "XXX speed" meaning true manual transmission for so long. Sooo...you cant really call it an automatic....just go through the interior shots before investing too much time or effort in an unclear ad that may or may not be too good to be true. If it doesn't show a pic of the ball n' shaft, it's an F1.

You can clearly see the shift paddles in the 4th pic.

Lots of mistakes get made. True. Some car dealers are not above using deception to sell a car. Also true.

When did I say they were all out to get me? I can call bs without thinking there are black helicopters following me.

That said, I do think the counterfeit biz if off the charts. I think odometer rollbacks on used cars are rampant. I. Even had a “friend” who is a car dealer offer to install a device on the new car i was interested in that would freeze the odometer. That killed used cars for me.

I would never consider buying a car from such a bad actor. If he tries to fool you on the transmission, he is probably lying about a lot of things about his car.

the funny thing is, if its intentional, what do they think will happen when someone finds out?
