    There isn't an OBD reader that reads clutch life. OBD was designed for emissions testing. There are some diagnostics tools that plug in there (and other places) to read various things, including clutch parameters but these aren't cheap OBD readers. I think you can do it with the Launch tool.

    Just arrived, will test it on the 612 and report back, don't have access to a 430 right now since everything is closed.

    That should have been ap200 .. I pretty sure based in what I have seen it will communicate with all the ecu .. I have one on my counter but haven't installed the software yet

    It will not do activations or pis setting etc but I believe it will read most of the cars info ..

    The AP200 is a cracking wee tool, and great value for money. I don’t think it will read clutch life though, as this is a special function on other diagnostic tools I’ve used, and not in the live data feed. I’ll have a check tonight though and get back to you. I can attach a pdf of the live data feed it will produce on a 612 TCU.

    Ok... so looks like the little $50 Autel AP200 does indeed tell you the clutch wear percentage- see the very last line of the file attached. Also includes the wear index, plus loads of other data. Might be interesting to some F1 folks out there.

    The pdf attached shows the report you can generate. Like I said- cracking tool for the money.

    HAs anyone used the $50 Autel AP200. I am thinking of grabbing one as I have f1 trans. Would like to get some direct feedback before I buy it if possible.

    Look at the previous post .. remember it doesn't do activations and or changing codes values but I believe it reads all values from the cpus .. it works better from f430 on

    Been following this thread because it’s sounds like an interesting to have a cheap device to keep an eye on clutch wear. I tried opening your attachment, but it didn’t work.

    Are you saying the Autel 200 can read the clutch wear? I looked at this one for sale and it doesn’t even list Ferrari. Sorry if I’m not reading the thread correctly.

    Thanks,

    Hmmmm.... looks like Ferrari Chat image compression isn’t on our side. Hopefully the above is just about legible. It really is a clear in the PDF the Autel app generates.

    Its pretty self explanatory.
    - Download app;
    - Create account;
    - Pair your dongle with your account;
    - Select which manufacturer you want as part of the unlimited free subscription (you just get one- other manufactures will cost £20/$20 per year)
    - You'll need to add a new app depending on which manufacturer you select- it will guide you on this.
    - Plug dongle into car, turn ignition on (but not engine)
    - Select the dongle from your bluetooth settings. Click "allow" when asked if the phone can share data with it.
    - Open the main AP200 app, click on Ferrari > 430 > Marelli Gearbox ECU > Live Data
    - Scroll to the bottom- be patient whilst all the data loads up.
    - When its all there, click the button at the top to save the report.
    - You can access the report by going back to the main menu and selecting your profile (this bit is a bit non-intuitive I thought actually).

    Then do an auto-scan and see what weird and wonderful codes have been stored on the various modules in your car without you ever knowing.

    Doesn't look like it, though maybe this is different if you have CCM brakes. Again, this is just for my 612 with steel rotors (though I think it uses the same Bosch 5.7/8 ABS ecu)- see attached PDF. Hopefully it works this time!!!

    Ok. I just ordered one from amazon. With the “promo” coupon it is about $60. I could have found it cheaper and maybe faster since amazon won’t deliver till the 22nd, but they have free returns if it turns out not to work right with my 430.

    I do have the CCM brakes, so I guess we will know in a few weeks. My car was just read out at the beginning of March anyway. Minimal brake wear and only 20% worn on the clutch but it will be cool to monitor it on my own.

    I think for the amount paid you will pleasantly surprised ...as long you know only get one vehicle for that price and cannot do activations or coding ..like activating pump or changing pis values etc

    It will reset some service lights and may do some maintenance functions

    Reading out is all I need. Any real work I’ll bring it to my Ferrari mechanic. I realized that I’m getting too old to wrench on this stuff and I actually enjoy the cosmetic fixing more (just noticed a barely perceivable crack in the corner of the challenge grill carbon fiber, that will be fun fixing before it becomes a big crack)

    Cheers,
    Corey
