I thought the F1 seats were no longer leather covered? Or is that for an older car?

At present they don't sell it, but I think there could be some news at the end of this year, if the world will be still there...

You are correct, they are for the old F1 cars Ferrari is delivering to the new owners.

    Made by Mauro Schedoni himself

The lining of my 89 Testarossa's luggage is abominable. I've used a stiff brush to remove flaking material but there is always more of it. I use the luggage (even the long suitcase and attache case in my 308) but am resigned to putting clothing in plastic bags. I wonder if it is possible to spray a clear coating over it?

I think that fchat member 2281GT did something like that, with a sort of heavy paint. But the best way is to remove the inner lining and replace it with a new one. It works, but you need a specialist

This is an experiment I did with my trusted interior specialist: I got this Schedoni 456 GT suit carrier in desperate interior conditions and we did everything to redone the interior.

You can believe it or not: it's the same suitcase

    ciao

PS: this will last other 20-25 years. It's not leather, it's the same leatherette material of the 1993 Schedoni original suitcarrier. As the original finish and color are no more available, we got it in the finish and color now available, then recolored and printed with the original finish. Not bad, isn't it? Not cheap, as well

    Wow 140 years...now that's history.

Albert I have a question re. Schedoni luggage.

When a Euro set of luggage is placed in the trunk of a Euro 308, and the cover is zippered closed, is the cover smooth on the top or does the luggage protrude just a bit? Same with a U.S. spec 308..just curious.

    Thanks

    Don

Don, on the 208 turbo the (car specific) shoe box is to tall and you have to rotate it 90 degree. On the euro 308 the set fits correctly. I was told by Schedoni that in the US set Ferrari added half an inch of insulation in the bottom of the trunk (without telling anything to Schedoni) and so the set could be a bit to tall. This and more stories on my new book about Ferrari Schedoni (hope ready by Christmas)

    ciao

    Thanks..

I'll be sure and get a copy of the book when it's ready.

The reason I asked the question is that I have a very nice set of Euro luggage..BUT I have a U.S. car!
If the Euro luggage is placed in the trunk of my U.S. car it sticks up almost 1.5" above the zippered cover. I believe I can remove some of the pieces in the trunk and make it work though.

I've removed a lot of the carpet/insulation in the trunk to get an idea of what's there. It appears that the U.S. spec car has about a full inch of insulation added to the bottom of the trunk in addition to a double sided wooden shelf..Also, it looks like the U.S. bumper attach points protrude too high as well. I have tried to get a component diagram of the trunk for a Euro car to compare but haven't come up with one yet.

I have removed the cats, so heat is not much of a factor anymore so I may be able to get by by just adding some thin high density insulation and call it good.

    Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Don

    Happy 140th Birthday Schedoni

Modena. From the set of suitcases that conquered the Drake to the "red" of Leclerc the Leather Dynasty

The festival celebrates the one hundred and forty years of activity of the Schedoni family "Everything started by chance when my father gave his brother-in-law a gift"

    SAVERIO CIOCE
    MAY 16, 2020
MODENA Only the virus has tried to ruin the birthday for the 140 years of Schedoni, the Modena-based world leader in the luxury car luggage sector, which faced a production stop and a layoff period for its 28 employees . With customers ranging from Ferrari to Rolls Royce, passing through the other supercar brands of Olympus, that of Schedoni is a family success story. And the Motor Valley Fest, not surprisingly, tells it.

But what impact will the global pandemic have? Will it be possible to double the turnover of last year, when the 3.8 million euros were reached? "I don't have the glass ball to predict the future - replies the managing director of the company in via Gandhi Simone Schedoni who, together with his sister Elisa, leads the company - It all depends on how the sales of luxury cars will go because we manufacture suitcases that adapt to high-end cars, taking advantage of every inch of luggage that is often smaller than any imagination ». An example? «“ Ferrari ”, one of Maranello's top models, has room for a suitcase. Only one »says Simone.

The prices, of course, are in line with the prestige and luxury of the models: each model of Lamborghini, Pagani, Bentley, Bugatti, Aston Martin makes history in itself. And the set of suitcases - which can include from one to five pieces per trunk and is always made of the highest quality material from carbon to the finest leathers - is customized.

"Each set - explains Schedoni - is combined with the car in a unique and unrepeatable way like a high fashion garment. Once the customer has chosen the color of the car and the upholstery, it is we who offer the same leather as the interior or the color of the seams, up to adding from time to time tags with the owner's name, the chassis number, the plate, the details of the car ... All done by hand, of course. Piece by piece ». Final cost? With a margin of approximation in the firm they explain that the set can vary from 12 thousand euros to 80 thousand.

Simone, the managing director in office, represents the fourth generation of Schedoni. And the fifth is just around the corner: his nephew Alessio is in charge of research and development, while his children are still engaged in higher education. The problem of business continuity, therefore, does not arise.

The history of the "leather artisans" was born with the great-grandfather Celso who, in 1880, opened the first shoemaker's shop in Formigine: he manufactured sturdy and elegant shoes and exhibited them on the street in via Giardini when Italy united, with the capital of Rome, it had only existed for ten years. His son Giuseppe, Simone's grandfather, began to work alongside his father as a boy and in his long life he saw the small family business grow to unthinkable levels.

In 2015, when Giuseppe passed away for more than a hundred years, the rudder had passed to his son Mauro and it was precisely under his wing that there was a change of gear. The productive sprint with the turbo. «It all started almost by chance in 1976 when - recalls Simone - father-in-law Franco Folli, with a Ferrari 308 GTB, showed us that fantastic fireball that had no space for suitcases. My father took the measurements and, as a Christmas present, made him a set that perfectly suited the trunk, using all the spaces, including the "beauty case".

A few days later an acquaintance of his, who was Ferrari's commercial director, became enthusiastic about the product and from the first days of January we started with the productions for Ferrari. Drake liked them a lot, they went along with his idea of sports cars, elegant, unique ».

From there on, a triumphant march, first with the Ferrari 400 and then with the legendary 512 BB. One model after another, the 288 GTO, the F40 and the F50 ..., working for years almost only for the Reds. Today the Cavallino, with Lamborghini and Rolls Royce, represents half of the company's turnover. The other half comes from other automotive myths, including the latest customer, McLaren, who has started producing supercars and who needs a personalized and tailored suitcase.

«I admit it - Schedoni concludes - we have practically no competition and we are attached to this land as never before. We will also overcome Coronavirus and the difficulty of returning to work in stages and with masks, sanitizing gels and plexiglass barriers. At least twice a year someone comes here who, with the checkbook in hand, offers to buy the company. We don't think about it at all. Our collaborators are a unique capital that cannot be sold ». Simone is rightly proud of it: «We have a dip

Which year and model is your car?
I learned by Schedoni, only few days ago that USA 308 in 1977 had a different set
If you can and want, it would be very interesting to have a little draw of your boot cross sections with the main measures, including both depth. Member Rosey did this with the 328 Australia and we saw the difference : 328 USA and the ones with catalysts exhaust have a different (lower) set
