I just pulled all the wheels off to do a brake fluid flush and the last new tire installer left the sticky part from the old weights on the inside of the wheels.

Are the wheels clear coated? The insides of the wheels polished up nicely, except for where the old weights were.

Can I use acetone to remove the sticky remnants or will that damage the wheel coating?

3M Adhesive remover will do the trick, but I would want to test it on a back part of the wheel before using it on the front.

I think they’re clear coated so don’t use a solvent that will damage it. Goo Gone is fairly mild.

I have found wend using Goo Gone for best result, take a small piece of clear plastic and place over the sticky part after applying Goo Gone and wait a few minutes and just wipe off works great
