Someone suggested putting a one gallon bucket, with several holes drilled in the bottom, on top of your drain pan. Hold the bucket up close to the sump drain plug when you completely remove it. You can drop the drain plug into the bucket and get your hand out of the way quickly. Retrieve the drain plug from the bottom of the bucket when all of the oil has drained out of the sump and bucket. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it will work. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Beautiful you excel taste in cars Ferrari’s love cold weather Wish more of my country men would learn this
Your 80,000 km is equivalent to 49,000 miles I have 41,500 miles on my 2003 575 Curious what’s a liter of fuel in Germany now a days? Fuel is ridiculously cheap here in the states now well below $2 a gallon have you done the silicone hoses on your 550 ?
Love the broom handle hood strut! Very chic !!!! Looks like your having fun working on the cars Much like I do what town in Germany are you in?
with the Maranello driving in rain is no problem. Drive in rain at Nordschleife is very Dangerous. With the F512GTB driving is very dangerous. 500PS without ESP.... Which Silicone Hoses? At the front this very expensive ones? No... At the moment I have problems with Catalyst. I allways drive with Shell V-Power Racing. I live in exact middle from Germany near Kassel. Clyde, I fully applaud your efforts to get guys to work on their machines. If it helps any, you might use the following thread as an example of what one can do if they put their mind to it. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/500-mondial-s-ii-0556-0446-md.195295/ Best regards, Robert
Go to the thread 575 on the move you can see some of my shots there I will have to take some pictures now because of you my friend The silicone hose I speak of are the ones up front on the 550/575 they are a must! Sorry to hear you are having catalyst issues What are they? Clogged ? Is there emissions test in Germany? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Going to put these headers on the car this summer To reduce the heat that these cars produce Working with a good friend on this Will keep you in the loop as we say Love the dog What breed is it?
I have a difference between right and left air mass. Everything is ok in the state, but when driving, it has no power from 4000 revs. I have to look inside with a probe. I replaced the water hose under the intake manifold. It's much more important and you don't see it when it cracks. My dog is: Deutscher Kleinspitz. When I drive a Porsche, I only drive with Ferrari Cloths! I also like to drive at night and now in summer I can transport my Ferraris with my Rolls Royce with trailet hitch! ok I see you have the foxwell tool my guess is you have fuel delivery issue check your fuel filters they might be clogged since under load you lose power what year model is your Rolls?

Hi Clyde, What do you think of the F1 System? Currently have a 360 F1 spider. Now that the system is set-up correctly the car is as much fun as my prior stick Ferraris. I actually find it harder to drive correctly than a stick! Picture is my major service project prior 355. heads, 2 liners, rings etc etc etc Image Unavailable, Please Login
my 2003 575 was my first as an owner on a F-1 system in a Ferrari the car had 26k miles on it when I bought it and just had a clutch installed along with all the other stuff that goes with it I drive it like a stick, when I am stop light I am in neutral I am never is the auto mode I think that's where most of the unusual clutch wear occurs, one again in my opinion I have grown to like it the shifts are smooth and the down shifts are unreal you could never shift as smooth nor as fast with a slush box, once again in my opinion the big thing is stay out of reverse and change the gear box fluid at least every 15k miles hope this answers your question
so I have to ask why new rings liners etc? what happened there ? how many miles on this engine? i hear on the 355 the valve guides and exhaust manifolds are serious issues
Well, the car had 24k on it. Ran strong, used no oil. Prepping for major did a leak down and compression tests. Significant issues with 3 and 5 if I remember correctly. 355 had cat failure. Reverse flow sucks ceramic into cylinder. That and a poor choice of valve guide material contributed. I could actually wiggle valve with my fingers. Replaced liners rings and pistons. Parts were available back then. Had 360 sintered steel guides installed along with all new exhaust valves. Dave Helms was an amazing resource in my project! I suffer from while I am there disease. Replaced cam drive bearings, rear main seal, front seal etc etc etc! Fun job! Easier than my gearbox rebuild for my prior 348 spider!
I have a RR Silver Spur II USA model. Thanks for the tip with the petrol filters. the filters are already 5 years old. I ordered new ones. I have already replaced the front lambda sensor on the left and right, tested another O2 sensor and another air mass meter. To despair. Just like 2 years ago the increased idle speed only drove me to despair while driving. At the end came the tip with the leaky suction pipe. I immediately replaced the water hose down there. Last year a constant loss of gasoline drove me crazy. I changed the rubber of the connectors three times. Even greased the rubbers ... until someone explained that there are hairline cracks in the plastic. I was close to insanity ... Your 575 is beautiful, spacers would look good on the front and back Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
