Cheated on the meatballs. Costco Kirkland brand...….. I did a Costco run the other day for my parents. My mother has COPD and won't leave her house. So either my brother or me are doing the parents shopping.

Nice that you have an old school butcher near by. The closest I know of are either in Dallas or close to it...T

We've been enjoying our Manhattan's lately but think I'm switching to G&T. How many do I need a day? Maybe skip the gin?

Wiki: Tonic water (or Indian tonic water) is a carbonated soft drink in which quinine is dissolved. Originally used as a prophylactic against malaria, tonic water usually now has a significantly lower quinine content and is consumed for its distinctive bitter flavor, though it is nowadays also often sweetened.

Per Harvard, there's a lot less quinine in tonic water than in medicinal preps. So, you may need to drink a lot! Of course, since they're trying to keep us off the roads, maybe some extra boozing is in order!

I took chloroquine sulphate prophylactically before my first trip to South Africa 20+ years ago. Interestingly, quinine, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are all chemically different.
    Mostly in the alkaloid portion...T

Smoker smoking. Chicken first, and then some fish. All pecan fire since I am working through my collection of downed pecan limbs. This is the remainder of a much bigger pile.

    Sure...

It was a tuna casserole. Bow tie pasta. Standard roux - with celery, onion, sweet pepper, jalapeño peppers, jalapeños cheese, and peas. Panko breadcrumbs with some butter, Herbs de Provence, and smoked paprika.

Chicken and lentil soup. Celery, onion, turnip - sweated. Chicken broth made from the carcass of the chicken I smoked the other night. A little tomato sauce. Add in lentils - brown? - towards the end. Serve with crusty bread and side salad...T

NY strip with kale chick peak quinoa salad lemon vinegar dressing stuff.

First time that I tried for rare, and it turned out a little bit closer to medium rare. Will try again.

Next time, mix the pork, the rice and the mushroom soup in one casserole dish, bake for a while, and you got yourself a classic, Minnesota/North Dakota "hot dish"!

Also, added some carrots, and fresh spinach from the garden.
Amazingly, we had a few volunteer spinach that managed to survive a mild (even by our standards)
    winter - mulched with leaves.
