Happy new year, with bad boys 3 coming out soon, I was wondering in bad boys 2. IN the blackferrari chase scene, while some of the sound track was super imposed. Was the engine rev and noise from the actual or an actual Ferrari v12? Or was it a generic revving sound? It sounded pretty good but not so high pitched v12 I thought.

I have read (but do not know if it is true) that they used a 355 for the sound track.

Haven't read that myself, but think it's absolutely a 355 soundtrack. Probably the only part where it wasn't used was when Will Smith pulls up to Martin Lawrence's house and hits the horn (miss the squeaky horn btw).

The 550 sound is used a few times but during the chase it's 355 noise

Because regardless what some of the purists on this forum say...they do NOT sound like a Ferrari in stock form. :)

Let’s face it, the 550 is a wonderful car but it sounds pretty limp. The BB chase soundtrack was a 355.

If the 550 gad sounded something like a 365 GTC/4 or Testarossa with Capristo or something, this car would have had a value twice as high as today. It can make the right sounds just with a few simple modifications... There should have been a standard and a S model. So people could choose the dull boring standard version If they absolutely wanted it. When they were new, the fastest Jaguars were quiet and almost as fast under normal driving conditions. But if you buy a Ferrari for twice the price, you probably wanted something a bit more spectacular!

That being said a stock exhaust on a TR isn’t that great either, it comes alive with an aftermarket exhaust...specially in the us where the cars had pre cats muffling the sound.

Sounds MORE like a Ferrari...but still not quite there IMO.

Another plug for Fabio's system. :D

THAT is what a Ferrari should sound like in my opinion.

Pretty much any Maranello with the center resonator/muffler/cork and standard mufflers will sound pretty tame. The straight pipes introduced at AN 51797 were a big improvement and HGTC mufflers helped even more. Nothing factory or just changing mufflers/pipes is going to come anywhere near matching Fabio's 6-1 headers and low backpressure catalysts, which emulate a 599 GTO exhaust. But the HGTC set-up is a huge improvement and designed to work with straight center pipes.

Agreed with all, Fabio's 6-1 headers are a work of art....

That look amazing! If you don’t mind me asking, which components did you get and what are you doing at the muffler end?

These are from Fiamm enghi Engineering in Italy, one of only two manufacturers in the world that make equal length headers for the 550/575 (the other is in Japan and 3x more expensive). My car came with Tubis so I will try those first, but they are not my favorite, so I am working on a custom valved option.

In BB3, they also used another car to cover the sound (lack of) of the 992 Carrera. The movie was total garbage btw.

^^ that little gear shifter in the 992 was not bad boys material, just the mere fact that they went with that car made me really question the movie.....sucks to hear it was a crap, I loved the first 2.

I'm a huge fan of Bad Boys 1 & 2, but I instantly lost interest in #3 when I saw the car they chose to go with.

How do you go from the 965 Turbo, to the Maranello 550/575....to a Carrera 4S !! ??

Whoever made that call should be fired from whatever position they hold.

They should've used the 812, Aventador, 720S, or even GT2RS.

They went from flagship GT's to a pedestrian 911. Terrible call...still haven't watched the movie yet...I'll get around to it eventually I suppose.

Did you get Code 010101 or Code 010102? I am trying to understand the difference of the two.

Good question, I just went out to the car to find the paint sticker and can’t seem to locate it. Would you or anyone else happen to know where it is? I thought it was under the hood to the right of the build label.

Agree it's a film I've been looking forward to for 17years...seen BB2 more times than I can count. Saw the trailer which looked like a Porsche advert with a large budget.

    Still not seen it now
