I'm wondering what effect this motorsports shutdown has on the emerging talents who now have no way to prove themselves? We said this is the make-or-break year for Mick Schumacher. What if there are no races? All postponed to next year or show stopper?
Full marks to Mercedes F1 and co, for rushing through a newly reversed engineered designed ventilator, hoping to produce a 1000 a day. It usually take years, they did it in a week.

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/marko-red-bull-coronavirus-camp/4774807/ What is with Austrians and their camps? Don’t think Red Bull and beer mix too well but a corona-camp sounds awesome nonetheless
Was going to post about this: excellent, best thing F1 could do to make itself useful, very good PR by way of a vital contribution.
¿Years? Someone developed a respirator built with a cheap Decathlon diving mask and 3D printed parts, so I suppose it can be made faster than that. Maybe the tests, homologation, etc... take years, but I suppose that in this situation they´re skipping that phase.
Everybody has stopped, so I suppose for Mick Schumacher it´s not going to make any difference. It´s a problem for those depending on sponsors.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/52091905 It's obviously old school, but not that outlandish. The chances of someone in the team getting it when the season restarts are high.
I figure your right in skipping the red tape ect, just shows what can be done in a short space of time when some common sense prevails eh. Also it maybe a good time to fill up the Ferraris with some naughty petrol, it's looking like the guys who pump the oil out of the earth will be giving it away ..
Confirmation that Dr Evil is also a crank, fortunately stopped in his tracks this time. The development of herd immunity is not something that can be effectively or safely 'managed'. Young and fit count for nothing if an individual's underlying immune system is weak or compromised, including due to undiscovered genetic factors. And with evidence of transmission via asymptomatic individuals before and/or after their own illness, there would be no way of controlling who else might be infected following Marko's little experiment. The old time practice of 'measles parties' was limited to kids with strong immune systems and parents who were already immune thanks to having had the disease as children – clearly not the case here: it's not called a novel coronavirus for nothing. My wife is an allergy/asthma/immunology specialist and our next door neighbour is an ID specialist, both at Harvard teaching hospitals here in Boston, so I'm working from solid information here (unless you're one of those who thinks a few minutes on the web trumps twelve years of medical training).
Very interesting but I'm not totally convinced by the article. I will need to dig a bit more on the data to have an opinion.
‘Measles parties’ ? Never heard of that one but a stellar name for a rock band. Waiting to see how Sweden pulls herd immunity off....not sure if I trust their COVID 19 figures.... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/23/swedish-pm-warned-russian-roulette-covid-19-strategy-herd-immunity
So at this point I think the entire F1 season will be cancelled. TomTom is showing traffic in Wuhan is still almost non-existent. Click last 7 days to see traffic and it compares it to a year prior: https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/traffic-index/wuhan-traffic Yeah they are definitely not telling the rest of the world what is actually going on. Definitely has not returned anywhere near normal. Their crematoriums cannot keep up with capacity either. Cya in 2021 for F1 everyone...

Yes, and the government should have done this much earlier. Now there's 37 deaths IIRC here, all linked to chronic illness in the first place. The recovery is good too. If this is lesson, we all should be prepared all the time for anything.
