I had the wheels refinished in satin black which I think looks right with red. Your information was spot-on! Greatly appreciated. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rotating mass is a huge deal with acceleration and braking. Adding 16 pounds in the passenger seat has no effect. Removing 4 pounds from each wheel/tire is very noticeable on "low horsepower" cars like 308/328.
Thank you. I will sell them someday, but not a lot of buyers for the convex wheels. If I had your wheels, mine would look like Tom's, which is cool, too. It is also nice to see a thread come to a conclusion from the beginning issue or question. Too many just die off with no resolution.
True that on the conclusion & good that David has got where he wanted to go. Its his car & he can do what he likes with it. However, the conclusion it leads me to is that I still haven't seen a replacement wheel on an ABS 328 that I'd want on my car! I also wouldn't want the additional weight of those wheels, or the additional loads through the suspension joints or steering gear. (But if somebody would make a 17" version of the OEM wheel that was light & wasn't too much wider - well, you'd have to take a long, hard look at that )
