Hi guys… Quick question for the experts. I’m curious if anyone notices in the shift from 1st to 2nd, if of you tend to shift 5K or under, and then really get on it in the upper gears? I’ve noticed the last few drives, especially since I modified the exhaust, if I shift 1st to 2nd much more than 4000 I get a bit of a backfire in the latter part, versus just a quick shift as what happens from 2nd to 3rd third fourth fifth and six. I did modify the exhaust several months ago, eliminating the baffles was probably created less back pressure ( sure sounds amazing ), and that’s why he was causing it. Just making sure it’s not indicative of anything else Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
You still have the cat converters fitted ? Have you gutted the silencer as you mention taking out the baffles ?
Ok. Thx much. Assumed as much but wanted to check. Car otherwise drives amazingly Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Sorry… I’m not that technical on these things. I think I missspoke. It was the cats that were deleted since we’ve live here in Florida, not the baffles. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Now you are making a bit more sense, if u removed the baffles i was wondering what state the silencer was in. Problem with deleting the cats if that the emissions must be through the roof , not allowed to do that here as it will fail its yearly test- i still have the oem cats but Capristo manifolds, silencer and tail pipes . The valves are not fitted so no exhaust bypass. About 85 db at start and reduces to about 76db as it warms up. Nice tone through when it gets going and not getting unwanted police attention with gearbox on auto. On manual it is a lot louder but still nice tone.
Gonna hi jack here got a sec, but is along shifting! New F430 owner here, does anyone know at what point the clutch is fully engaged in 1st? I think I read 1200ish rpms, but now I can’t find the thread. Basically when taking off after start up I’ve been getting the rpms over 1k ASAP but under 4 k until the oils heats up. About right?
