Actually, once when I was younger, chad on this forum bought the bushmobile in AZ. When we got it back the next weekend in 2 days we did the full engine out cam timing all of it really humping it. It is possible we did it. But I'm too old now to do that anymore. Last time I did the major on the bushmobile about a year ago took me over a week! Getting older isn't pretty.

A beautiful 348 owned by Bushwhacker, and sold to Copterjohn, and sold to Chad.

Yes it is cool that a few cars have a provenance of passing from one fchat caretaker to another.

That was all exhaust shims changed and two inlet shims changed; plus cost of all gaskets, all the cam shaft seals and was including tax.

Agree sounds expensive, but once broken down it’s actually not too bad.

wow?? I guess 348/355 ownership is most cost effective in the UK.. that pricing is ridiculous..??

we are getting bum rushed up here in Canada.. you can bring your BMW or Toyota to the dealer and walk away with higher bill then that..

a major service here, and addressing some of the "do it" while engine is out.. is minimum $8000+ CAD.. and that's at an indie..
    dealer probably min 10k+

The Ferrari Main Dealers over here are keen to get the older cars back. The Main Dealer I go to also has a number of franchises including Mini/BMW/Jag etc. their hourly rates are almost double the various Ferrari Main Dealers charge!

Indie hourly rates range from about £80 an hour up if they are closer to London.

£3000 = $3750. A 30k service kit from Ricambi =$1650. Assume you get it for less, $1150. $3750-$1150 = $2600. £80/hr = $100/hr. $2600/100 = 26 hrs labor, say 24. So 3 days labor. A day to drop the engine, a day to do the belts, a day to put it back together. Now add fluids, engine oil, antifreeze, AC charge, $200.
