You know what. You were reading my mind. Given I already have a mid engine V8 and since I am looking for a GT, I am going to revisit the 812 GTS. Do you know how challenging it is to get an allocation? I know pretty much anyone can walk in and put a deposit for the F8.

I know what you mean. Just absolutely love taking the GT3RS out! Added GMG aftermarket exhaust. Just screams.

For the money look at the F12s as well. Lots of car for ~230K.

Can you tell me what is "ignorant" about my point of view? What exactly did I say? That there is nothing like the tradition elegance or class of a Ferrari. First of all, this is an opinion only. So by definition an opinion can not be ignorant of facts. An opinion is formed taking into account a lot of different things, including specs etc. I acknowledge being ignorant of 720 stats, but only because you couldn't pay me to drive a McLaren or a Lambo. The OP wanted opinions on which car is the better choice, and I gave my opinion.

Again, my post wasn't meant to add insight into the specs or performance comparison of the two models. I was just letting the OP know that for me, there is no car comparable to a Ferrari.

Your comments were biased and lacked any substance likely because you have little to no experience with either car referenced.

What cars do you currently drive? What exotic did you own prior to your current? Lets start there so I have a reference for who Im talking to.

I currently have a 2019 812 SF and a 2019 488. Both purchased in last twelve months. Both Rosso Corso.

I also own a Maserati Levante. (though that is not considered an exotic).

    Previously I owned a 2016 Cali T.

I have deposits in (and a confirmed allocation) for the 812 GTS. I am wrapping up an order for the F-8 Spider.

I have a deposit in (but no allocation) for the SF-90.

I will probably buy a PF for my wife for Christmas.

I would never own a McLaren. Under any circumstance. If you give me a 720 for free, I would raffle it for charity.

Again, my preferences are based entirely on opinion, which is what the OP was soliciting. No stats from me. I don't care about them. No 0-60 times. These cars are all lightning quick. So what difference does a nanosecond make?

No disrespect to McLaren owners, but I guess my argument for Ferrari's superiority over all exotics may have rubbed you the wrong way. For that I apologize. I meant no disrespect.

You are correct in that I have driven neither the Pista nor the 720. However I disagree with your point that there is no substance behind my post/opinion. I am entitled to share my opinion on Ferrari vs McLaren, right?

I never bought into the Pista hype - otherwise I would probably own one.

I would never own a McLaren. Why? Because I deem the brand light years behind Ferrari. Again, just my opinion...

Thank you for sharing your ownership history. I noticed not a single McLaren there. In the next post you stated you have never even driven one.

So if you have never driven a car, wouldn’t your opinion on the car be considered ignorant?

I’ve owned Porsche, Ferrari McLaren. No lambos czuse my 6’4” frame wont fit. But I respect and enjoy all brands. You should try to do the same.

welcome to the boards- stick around and share photos of your cars. I’m sure you have lots to offer but be tolerant of all brands. You are truly missing out if you don’t.

So when we were in high school, did anyone fantasize about a McLaren? No, because it didn't exist. Lambo? Yes, but they were
There is no McLaren in my history but there doesn't have to be one for me to post my opinion, right?

I get that some guys love to have all the nice cars, but I don't. Life is short, so I say pick the best in the world and go for it. For me, that will never be a McLaren or Lambo (and certainly never anything made in Germany). Ferrari has the tradition/history, has the mystique, has the glamour, has all the flex.

On the other hand, McLaren has something Ferrari will never have. The greatest driver in history delivering three world championships. If only he had moved to Ferrari in 1994...

Take a deep breath man and open your mind. Lots of great cars out there in addition to Ferrari. Don’t be a one trick pony. It’s a lot more fun with multiple brands.

Ain't happening SoCal - I don't see the point of throwing gobs of $$ on a brand to which I have no emotional attachment.

Can I say 2 things. There are a lot of great cars now BUT the first car that will always be quoted if FERRARI, lambo second . NEVER heard I wish I had a Maclaren. Loto winners when interviewed are asked you gonna buy a Ferrari.

Ferrari stirs my emotion like no other brand.

As an owner of both, your comments and the ones prior do not replicate my real world experience.

either way- doesn't matter to me as these are both great companies with great cars for people who actually own and drive them. Keyboard jockeys who like to wax nostalgic on the posters on their wall in high school- not so much.

I think you are missing the message.... Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it , meaning driven one. Me personally , I can’t comment on the Mac because like you , I’ve never driven one. I did go for a ride in one and I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once. You have a beautiful collection of cars. Post em up when you get a chance. We love car porn. Best , Kirk

You have emotional attachment to Ferrari and only Ferrari...I get that...but a lot of us like various other brands too. Myself...I love Porsche and have owned many and know they are among if not the best built car out there. For the Carrera/GT models and the Cayman I love that you can track the heck out of them and they last. Plus you can’t deny Porsche racing history which like a Ferrari I am hugely attracted to. Speaking of that, McLaren has a great racing history and their street cars are making history now in today’s world.

Man I love all the high end brands. I could convince myself to own any of them, and probably talk myself out of it before the purchase. Hard to tie up funds at the moment with the return potential now that stocks are so cheap. I don’t really understand talking smack on Mclarens if you’ve never driven one.

Everyone has their preference. Agree like i said there are many wonderful cars now. Frankly I absolutely love the Mac F1. There is something about it which stirs me as Ferrari does.

Given the cash I can say yes I would try other brands. Especially at the prices you pay for cars.

Alas I cant and really have enough time just to drive one car and for me that will be a Ferrari.

Decisions based purely or primarily upon emotion rather than logic and reason combined with a modicum of emotion, rarely serves ones best interest.
