Wonderful find thank you, love his subtle slides:) Donington is a great circuit I tested and raced there many times in the late 80's, saw a 512S there during a test day once back then.

After some accident damage they didn't have proper panels and borrowed items from others.

It is quite common for teams to borrow bits and pieces including bodywork from each other, there is true solidarity, in most cases. At Le Mans a BBLM once raced with a borrowed back end of completely different color, not harmonious visually but the wind did not care and aerodynamically it was the same.

Here is a virus free 512M 1002 photo from the Tour de France in 1971, Jean Pierre Jabouille driving. I might do an article about that epic drive, I asked him once and he agreed, just need to find the time.

I hope he and Juncadella got on because it is rather cramped in there! In any case they came second overall and won the over 3 liter class. That is after several days of driving on circuits but also on French B and C roads which can be bumpy and have pot holes, these cars were not made for that but they succeeded.

Jean Todt might have been a more appropriate choice;)

"The Strategy is simple: Overtake the two Porsches and win the Race!"
Gorgeous film about the 1970 Sebring 12-Hour Race, a real must-see for any 512S lover. Really great old footage!

Thanks for posting, the ultimate race for the 512, one of just two international victories it scored (with Kyalami 71) and according to Mario his greatest race:)!

I love how Mario always said that he wanted to win that race badly because he was pissed that if the 908 won, Steve McQueen would get credited for Revson's work.

I cant speak for anyone else that you are "baiting", but there is this world wide pandemic thingy that's happening, and in the grand scheme of things, this really isn't all that important.

Disappeared? No, just waiting to learn for Bira's "scientific approach" what Bob Houghton's creation was used for the classiche certification of the 1004 frame...
