I saw the color on the Mini this morning in traffic, I agree it's a close match! Did not forget your picture request, phone was full of work photos, will get today!
Here are some pictures from today on the first pieces to be painted this Azzurro Metallica color, it's really amazing in different light and really changes color with the metallic. After all this time and all Daniel expertise and efforts, without him this car wouldn't be as close or as perfect as it is. Many hours of sanding, spraying, sanding, and repeating have gone into this car. I would have to say it's way better than what came out of the factory and could be one of the flattest 308's ever. 3 coats of primer filler, and 4 on the hood to get it to this stage. Door jams and the body of the car to be painted next weekend we hope. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
With Daniel G the best friend a guy could ever have it was finally painted yesterday. Took almost 9 hours with final set up and spray but we got it. 10 coats of color and 9 coats of clear. Once back together then cut and buff. One of the pictures is without the clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi Brian Not sure if you used the code I gave you but this colour looks identical to mine. Great job!! You must be looking forward to getting it back together and on the road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Here are some updated pictures of 22641. I was hoping to make the big Ferrari show in Seattle but won’t make it. Carpet is In the rear trunk. Drivers window back in and goes up and down and door panel installed. Next couple weeks very busy with other stuff so won’t be done till sometime in August. Really amazing seeing progress. I got a carpet set from world upholstery and was trying to install this weekend but the whole set is incorrect. Crap . Very frustrating. So now not sure what to do except take to a shop here in town. Sorry to not post more but embarrassing how long this is taking. Lol Brian Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Some additional pictures. I know Alan is wanting more pictures from me on the restoration. Next couple weeks will be huge as finally getting this darn car done. She is beautiful though. Very good color. The shop lighting doesn’t do the color justice. Watch out next year this is a platinum award winner. Replacing items that are questionable so that takes time as you all know. The hunt is a battle for these older Ferrari cars. Thanks Brian Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Update. Getting so much closer now. Sent the car to Ferrari Tech in the city of Orange for belts, fine engine work, and engine detail and dial in. The belts were done 4 years ago and so need to be done again, And only had 25 miles on them. Have the concourse show in Portland Oregon on July 7 so getting it done for that for sure as long as no major items at Larry’s. Interior is 95% now just a couple small details. Kept the front off and the back off for easy for the mechanic. But the rear is final polish in the picture. Almost done after 4 years. Thank goodness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I used a local shop. They acquired the carpet. I kept all the old so they had a good template for all the cuts. Was less money as well. The whole thing installed was only 1600 with material. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just finishing the under trays and some details then the interior to just redo some small items and she is done. Came back from Ferrari tech in amazing condition. Larry really made the adjustments and she is signing now. So excited at this point. Think she will be a garage queen though after all this work. Hopefully done by mid December. You know who should really see this car????? Mario Andretti, at his Winery in Sonoma!!! You could remind him he had seen it before, coming from the original owner all those years ago, and headed for Texas. With some crazy mo fo at the wheel, and a tall slinky gf. He will remember.... You can get a new blessing, and some Andretti Wine. Which, by the way, I enjoyed in the F1 Paddock Club this year, at COTA!! The world keeps spinning around. Great work.....
Her sister, my remaining 22127 is now very limited duty. The crazy Art Car years have passed, and they now deserve a little more respect than maybe they got, when new. It was only a $30K car, after all!
Glad to see a very close brother to my 22669 is coming back to life Many thanks for such a nice restoration I have the feeling many blues left the factory in Q4 1977 Blu Dino Melallizzato 106-A-72 Best Julio Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow that color is amazing as well. We have the rare ones for sure Julio. Not sure how long on yours but it seems they never end. Today my son was home for holidays so roped him into helping clean again. Seems to keep getting through the layers of grim and dirt. This is after I cleaned it all before. Was a fun day though so that’s all that matters. Thanks Big Tex. Yes I would love to take it that far. I don’t think she will be on the road much sorry to say. Just so much time effort blood and beer. Not sure I can see a chip put into the paint now. Really runs amazing though. When starting in the shop. Not sure all the receipts will fit in the bonnet now. There is a lot of them. Stopped adding a couple years ago. No idea on hours. Close to 2k maybe. Lots of work she was. Some days she doesn’t want to be finished. Well, Ron Tonkin then...….drive up and ask to see the Records...LOL! It was one hell of a drive to Mario's, and the last roads were tiny. Valeria was sleeping in the curve I spooked a deer, which went straight up, out of sight! I think we had some disc warpage by that point, but what a drive!! Finding downtown Napa, at midnight, pitch dark. Great memories!
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Got some more done. Rear window trim And the front is done now too. Very close to the finish line I think. Need to just wrap up the bottom and the interior. Then one last polish and wax So hopefully just a couple weeks left. Which my wife will be happy with. 5 years ago she arrived (this month literally). at the shop and finally will be done. Will keep posting the last few steps. Brian Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some new pictures Will never do this again. lol. I can’t believe what it takes to make a car this good. Thank God for Daniel he’s a miracle I couldn’t have done any of this with out him. He told me 1300 hours. I said it’s a small car. Boy double that and I think it’s close. 30 hours of sanding and prep just on the wheels alone. Getting the correct tires next week and then the wheels back on. And pretty much done except for final final polish and wax. Kiss his ass for doing the wheels...my painter wont touch them. I may send him three sets!!! 30 hours for five sounds great.... The one time that cars was judged the guy said: "Nice wheels!" Matching Campys I think......
Looks great! I can believe it was 6 hours per wheel as I did mine last year. The castings are porous and full of bumps and the high magnesium content makes them pitted with any impurity or nick in the paint. Hope he used zinc chromate (if he could find some.)
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login So I thought I was done taping off this car again. I was wrong. Daniel said one more time. So I taped it off again and then he did the final touch up sanding and polishing. It looks amazing. Just waiting on the wheels now. They are done but I found a local person who thinks he can paint the emblems on the wheels. Should hopefully have them back this week. Got the tires from Coker last week. Very very close now. Looks amazing. For those of you that question what it takes to restore one of these I can tell you it takes a lot. I have a whole new appreciation for the restoration process. At least 2000 hours on the car. Some of course was slower than it should have been after lunch with beer. But hey it’s been a blast. An amazing friend I have that did all this and created this beautiful final product. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
