they aren't limited edition, making more than regular 488's.

There are roughly 1/2 the number of Pista's to 488's. For the states there is less than 1000 Pista's but I wouldn't call it "limited". Perhaps semi-limited. Regardless it is a beautiful car in my eyes.

I think only Italy knows exactly how many Pista's there are. Dealers might be able to estimate based on their own deliveries. Either way at minimum the 2019-20 model years more Pista's were made than 488's.

We are seeing SM's strategy at work here. LdM was right.

When the 488 was released it was about 10% less than Speciale and was offering a lot more power.
Apart from all prices currently droping, the Pista was (in my opinion) proposed at a very high list price (if you compare the GTB/Pista gap to the Italia/Speciale), which does not help it; now the Pista sellers are still trying to get about 20% to 30% more than the price of an F8. The F8 has no power advantage but on the other hand in many ways it is more similar to the Pista than the 458 was to the Scuderia: the F8 is not a real new car, although it is understood as a 488 facelift it's almost a Pista facelift.

Except I prefer the utility of the F8 over the Pista; everyday driving and for extended roadtrips. Almost all the power and performance as the Pista (certainly on the street) but with nice leather interiors.

The "limited" game is over and only the manufactures have themselves to blame. Worst offender is Porsche with the GT2RS and Ferrari a close second with the Pista. Manufacturers took us all for idiots and that only works once.

They should have studied Rolex, Patek, Hermes etc etc who have been playing the "limtied" game a lot longer and still have "credibility" when it comes to "limited" products.

McLaren announced the 675LT limited to 675 pieces - that may help them with their pricing of that car.

Unlikely. Problem with McLaren is that they will do 675 pieces of countless iterations of it.

Apparently there are 32 complete idiots out there that will part with the car. Its the best modern car Ferrari has ever made looks wise and performance wise. Spec'd right it crushes the SF90 and anything else in its path.

I will never sell mine. NEVER.

Yep, go to the owners lounge. Not as many "Motor Trend" reader experts.

Always nice to hear a story of an owner in love with his car.

If I had bought a Pista from factory and configured it myself, I would probably feel the same way.

Wish you many miles of happiness behind the wheel, Mark.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

it was free until a week or so ago when it went viral. a shot seller making his case against Ferrari, very in-depth and well written, but obviously one sided.

  20. I'll give you the Cliffs Note version.

    Ferrari makes too many cars.

Too many cars makes a marque less valuable,

Ergo, Ferrari is less valuable now.

    Conclusion: Sell RACE.

    (Wink: author is shorting RACE)

Now, lets go back to talk about why the Pista isn't as fast as the 720s, or why the 765LT will kick the Pista's ass.

I may have missed a post somewhere...but why did you flip your Pista after only a week or two?

To make money (no judgement here) or performance or other?

or simply they just made a lot of them, Ferrari’s haven’t been the fastest in quite awhile on or off the circuit but that hasn’t made them any less desirable.

Im not a flipper, I buy hoping to love and enjoy. I was skeptical of the Pista since I really disliked the 488 GTB, but dealer offered with no strings (ie Lusso) and we talked about turning it into a 812GTS allocation if I didnt like it. Drove the car home and instantly knew it wasnt for me. Went back for what I paid, and I decided to try a Lusso V12 given the massive depreciation already baked in while I wait for perhaps a GTS or ...

Meanwhile, still looking for a CS, TDF. No rush, prices falling.
