They talked of possible postponement rather than outright cancellation. Reporter asked about season start in Baku, Chase said he will address it in the days to come.
Bit weird the way they didnt show the whole press conference ...probably said they not paying anymore ?
Another reporter asking if its postponement or cancellation and they responded with it's too early to say.
I will post that Im disappointed. They could have raced with no fans potentially. I was looking forward to this race to see who is where in the order. I know I should understand the greater impact with the virus, and I do. I cannot hide that I wanted F1 back now. Hopefully this will be sorted soon but we will lose multiple races it seems. I miss F1.
So the hotel will be trying to contact all the other guests who have stayed there...and people they have been in contact with etc etc.
I don't see the season happening at this point. Pretty sure it will all be cancelled by this time next week.
They could add 1 or 2 races in August and use December. Last race is now planned on the 29th of Nov. Especially the European races could be held within one week of one another. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They only need 8 races for the championship to count. Going by the calendar ypsilon posted they could delay the championship till September/Monza/Singapore maybe even October with a few postponed races held in December.
They could move the 'hot' races to the back in December or even January ,Bahrain Vietnam and Singapore.
I’m frankly sick of the whole thing. 2020 was going to be a zombie season anyway with the changes coming next year. Allow unlimited testing this year instead of having races. Unfortunately this whole episode will embolden the squishes who want to make F1 “relevant.” F1 has become its own worst enemy. I hope Indycar doesn’t make a similar mistake. I certainly trust Penske to make better decisions than the FIA/Liberty axis.
