All of Italy is now under quarantine. People are suffering with illness, with lost loved ones, and with financial hardships.

it’s time for Ferrari’s F1 team to step up and join the effort.

quit going to F1 races and use the money they were going to spend to help people in Italy. Get their sponsors to help as well.

when the crisis is over, it will be a great celebration of the world to see them return.

and they will show how important they are to F1 as the ratings drop.

Ferrari entire F1 yearly budget is only $6 per person in Italy.

Plus the fact Ferrari only get 2/3rds of it if they don't race.

And then they would loose their "Always there from the beginning" status.

Empty gesture. Better they be out there fighting for Italian pride. Besides, I suspect the team will be ex-pats for the early part of the season anyway.

two points. The 2/3rds clause can be waved in this emergency.

and you don’t give money to anyone. You help those who need it.

Empty? Helping people in need is empty? It’s not a gesture. It’s helping people.

How much “Italian pride” was there last year watching Mercedes clean their clock every race? Participation trophies are now part of F1?

I get what you are saying but I also get what they are saying.

No other olympic team really has a chance beating the us in basketball yet... They still try and compete. The crappiest driver in f1 is still better than 99.9% or drivers let alone race drivers.

It is a Halo and it is inspirational. I can see it both ways.

How exactly would they help out? Try to find a vaccine?

Better to go out and race their hearts out for national pride.

I would think no..however..you do have a pretty big budget for toy cars. Maybe put the money where the mouth is and donate from you car fund that 300k to help out?

Mercedes is going to kick SF again this year. They have really improved their race car.

But then Merkel says 70% of Germans will get the virus. Vettel is German. Not sure that is a good thing. But LeClerc is faster anyway.

With Ferrari publicly traded l suspect profits are a major priority.

doesn't matter. what has your toy company done?

if someone in Italy who is sick likes watching F1 and it makes them feel good does that negate your idea?

they're a car racing company (or they should be...now just branding... perhaps they could lease their logo to a toilet paper manufacturer for free so people could have the cavallino close to home AND they expand their branding even more... win win)
