Hey guys… Quick question. Was having coffee this morning with my son, and looking across at the car that was parked, and this hole in the front bumper caught my eye. It’s behind the grill, so nothing hit it, and it’s almost a perfect circle.

Is this normal? Or did somehow a cap or something pop off in your guys opinion? If someone else can take a look at there at their F Image Unavailable, Please Login 430 and let me know that would be great.

Yeah, Tow Hook hole. Mine has a round hole in the wire screen as well. It's hard to see the wire screen hole in the photo because of the shadows.

To follow the tow hook answer. The tow hook should be in your tool kit that came with the car. It screws into the threaded nut inside the hole.

Ok. Gotcha. Thanks guys. Would have never thought that since there is that grate on front of it. Does the grate pop out or something when a tow is needed?

The grill should have the mess form a hole where tow hook will go thru

Might be an idea to check the tow hook threads, mine had threads flattened on one side as if it had been dropped. Its fun to repair as such fine threads

yep there is def something wrong with your grill, all OEM grills have a circa hole for the tow hook to be inserted

Thanks guys… I did confirm that there is a subtle but clear round hole in the mesh at an angle to the tow hook. So all appears normal. I just honestly never noticed this before. Thanks so much

+1 on check the threads. You don't want to find out that when you need it, it won't thread in. Tow company will then just use some hooks and grab whatever they can underneath your car.

Ok. Will do. I thought you guys were saying they use the tow hook for the track, which I never intend to do. So, tow hook is essentially what they use if they ever need to put the car on a flatbed should it stop running it sounds like?

Yes it gives the tow truck driver a solid part of your car to hook onto to pull it up on a flat bed. Otherwise they will find something else to hook on to and probably damage the car.

Also note that most tow hook are reverse thread so when you try to screw it in, if it doesn’t grab the normal way, try spinning the other way...
