Hello 375+ no actually it was in a newsletter I wrote and published 1995-2000 for Shelton Porsche the dealership in Naples Florida, I hoped it was a way to get to do the newsletter for Shelton Ferrari in Fort Lauderdale and we went as far as a proof but then they decided they did not want any newsletter.

Derek was great to deal with. We would discuss a topic, I would write it for him, he would read it for verification and respond: "Do I say silly things like that? Yes I suppose I do: that's fine.":) It is always a pleasure to see him at Goodwood, Monaco Historic GP or Le Mans Classic, a very pleasant person who lived a fantastic era of the sport: apart of Giampiero Moretti he was the only one and the only pro I believe to have raced 512's AND 333SP's, that's something.

    Great stuff, thank you Marc.
I remember a column or interview with Derek in Supercar Classics where he referred to his 275 GTB/4. As I recall he was at the factory about to leave for a race and saw a beautiful blue 4cam in the delivery area. He was told that it was his car. He later advertised the car for sale in Road & Track or some other magazine, I could swear that it was blue but then this was some 50 years ago.

I’m sorry offer dampening to this enthusiastic thread with all these wonderful, historic photos, but have they all been approved for public sharing by copyright owners/photographers, especially ones not personally posted by owner of those rights ?
    Just curious.

I used to own a large poster of this image, I think -not sure I remember- it was an advertising one for Champion spark plugs.

Plus 1. If they are your photos, great, but how are photographers and book publishers expected to make any money when their totally unique, I-was-there (and expensive, if producing a book) photos are 'burnt' on the internet?

The great Jacques Swaters amidst some of "his" Ecurie Francorchamps cars (with of course #1030 on his right hand side), at the unique FF40 meeting in 1992.

Check out Joe Honda Sportscar Spectacles by HIRO No. 5 Ferrari 512S book for a number of 512S pics at Daytona 1970 showing spare wheel at front secured by bungee hooks.

It was not in the "Sports Car Regulations" that the spare wheel necessarily be in the front. Porsche 917 K had the spare wheel in the rear.

Yes, sorry, I meant Le Mans ruled that they had to have a spare.
