So......this is next weekend. Its a wonderful time to see the Track, and the Paddock is usually pretty accessible. In spite of everything, I will probably find myself in town (Austin) that weekend! Any others???

People in Austin were like, "There is a race??".....OTOH there was plenty of room to run around and Board walk Ferraris Sky Box was empty, I kept the two bartenders company and they loaned me some ear muffs.. LOUD cars! Racing like the old days...….new circuit surface was very nice and there's TONS of gravel now up in Lot M to fill parking lot potholes!! Will post my pictures later.
You know what they say, "In NASCAR, the fans know all of the drivers. In road racing, the drivers know all of the fans".
If that place loses its F1 date it will become the next storage lot for insurance totals after the next flood.
My fave was "Nascar races $20,000 cars for million dollar purses, and WEC races million dollar cars for..."
I was explaining the mechanics of the F1 gig to a friend......the drivers love the course and the fan base for F1 will travel. I entertained a lot of out of towners and newbs on Sunday so WEC is similar The real threat in my mind is the addition of a second US F1 race, which might impact the access to the "Superbowl Fund" check from the State of Texas. That's why I try to make each race that interests me.....when Brigadoon disappears you will never see your girlfriend again. MotoGP next up...April!! And of course, the Rolling Stones, the Business Manager gave me some posters!! "Big Red Lips" they flash all night.....
I really wanted to make the trip but I had to attend a funeral for an old family friend that weekend.
