My Euro QV is titled in the US as an '85. It was a late '84 build. Chassis 52641. It has the snaps for the fuse box. Doesn't seem to be '85 only.
Ron, your car is 1985, the late 84 built just means your was built then for the 1985 model. Mine is an 84 QV but the build date is Dec. 1983.
looks great. enjoy... there are some nuances that would be good. in the PPI have a compression check run. See if the fusebox has been updated. check the cam-seals for leakage - if its documented they were changed, check for the chamfering of the valve covers for the pulley side assembly - they can be a pain in the a$$. when were the tensioners been replaced and has the A/C been converted to 134. Brakes and of course suspension bushings. the rear valence cover suffers from rust but can be easily remedied with a quick cleanup and powdercoating. Integrity of the cats for California SMOG. there are tools and tricks available (injector bushings from Jens in the netherlands and $20 brass injectors to replace the SS ones - Mercedes parts......) tehre is a great checklist also that would be helpful

That law is ancient and in no way prevents R12 use in California. I was buying and using R12 in California quite legally long after that law took effect. In fact it is easier to buy R12 in California than any other state I am familiar with. As usual their stupid efforts to restrict use actually made it easier and more common. So typical of the idiots in Sacramento.
Probably late September 84. Thats just a guess, I have not looked it up. My mistake. 52831 was 1st and built in July. 52835 was second.
I think you’re right because I was told that the 1984 model first started the production in early August of 1983 so that sounds about right, thanks for the info Brian.
That sounds right. My 1984 Euro QV is 52703, a June 1984 build, I was told it was the last week of the 1984s production. My car has all the 1985 model year changes already.
Been wondering about this myself. Mine is 52789 and titled as an ‘85. I believe the build date for my car is September ‘84. So there were items specific to ‘85? I have the knobs on my fuse panel... Anything else?
Is it a US version? Do you have the full VIN? I have no 52789 on any of my lists but they are not fool proof. 52789 should have been built in early July prior to any MY 85 cars. If a US model if the tenth digit is an E it is an 84. If the tenth digit is and F its an 85.
