The Camaro ZL1 is $160-180k here and they are $65k in USA. The povo spec Corvette is $60k (+ $5k Z51 performance package).

The povo spec is gonna be $160k+ here, the $80k Shmee special would be closer to $200-220k and a fully loaded car ($US100k) would probably be $250-300k.

    That's my guess :p

The Camaro is built as a LHD car then "remanufactured" here as RHD. It's a complex and very expensive job, with Aussie wages, rent, power costs added on.

Like the Mustang, the C8 will be built as RHD (Thankyou UK and Japan) and the cost uplift similar, LCT, GST, etc.

The only fly in the ointment is the demise of Holden and the question of will GM import direct or appoint a gouger like ATECO.

They were going to sell them at HSV dealers. The same dealers that charged $250+k for a W1 commodore

Yes the demise of Holden might change things up....

In the UK they start at £64,010 = $125k. For comparison the Maser Ghibi GrandSport is around £64k which are around $160k here...

They only offer the 2LT/3LT in the UK so it's possible they skip the povo spec here and mid specs go for $160k+ here. :)

Hard to say without seeing the reserves but it's interesting to see the Ferraris not selling. Perhaps the vendors are not realistic and living back in 2015 or the cars are junk. If the asking prices here are anything to go buy, its the former. Good, no stories cars with provenance, correct period colours and maintenance up to date sell. Everything else sits.

    Yes, spot on.
Looking at the engine bay pictures of the GTB and reading the description makes you wonder if its the same car...

    https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/events/2020-auctions/race-retro-classic-competition-car-sale-2020/race-retro-classic-competition-car-sale-2020/classic-cars-saturday-22nd-february-2020/1976-ferrari-308-gtb-vetroresina

"the engine was refreshed at 40,000 miles, a complete engine rebuild carried out at 53,000 miles (with camshaft upgrade) and again refreshed at 70,000 miles, with hardened valves and seats installed in 2009, all by renowned Ferrari specialists."

Well the engine bay looks like crap, the paint is chipped and flaking from the dry sump tank and around where the #chassis number sits, the correct nuts are missing from the air cleaner lid, ignition leads not properly secured. I see that and immediately think the car has not been cared for. They are easy and cheap things to correct and something I wouldn't expect to see on a car serviced by a "renowned Ferrari specialist".
The toolkit is filthy and there is no tyre on the spare rim either. I wonder if people present the cars knowing they'll get a lower price, or are simply stupid.

In my direct experience Michael, most of the "renowned Ferrari specialists" in the UK do poor quality work, so nothing you describe surprises me.

There's no excuse for presenting a car like that and expecting a decent price. It's completely unloved. Just a thousand pounds plus a used XWX for the spare would have transformed it. Why would you present a car with a missing rubber pad on the clutch pedal and a Quattrovalvole gear shift lever???

I don't know about that. The whole article is worth reading. He makes a lot of sense from a business/investor perspective, and I've heard SOME Ferrari club members saying they are thinking of getting another brand instead of a Ferrari. Obviously they aren't REAL enthusiasts, but their reasoning was they thought Ferarri aren't very exclusive any more and that everyone seems to have one. I quickly pointed out that in the Ferrari club, everyone DOES have one.
