That wheel was marketed as the Veloce Leather in 1986...

There is one thing. I’m not sure if the steering wheel was sold by Momo although they had an equivalent “Veloce” version. Sometimes you see “Momo” engraved in the front. Mine does not have that and mine also has “Ferrari” engraved in the back. You also get the french stitching on in the inside.

As the 1995 ad mentions, MOMO made steering wheels for Ferrari's production cars. The 308QV, 328 and 288 GTO had Ferrari cobranded Veloce steering wheels marked as you described.

MOMO's current MOD 78 with its anatomic grips is similar to their old Monte Carlo wheel.

Correct. And with the matching veloce horn button, that looked like this:

Does this have the ribbed grip pattern in the back or is it smooth just like the front?

I had the MOMO Veloce steering wheel installed in my 1978 Datsun 280 Z in the early 80s. I remember it having back finger grooves. I really liked that wheel!

When I sold the car in 1985, I gave the original wheel to its new owner. He kept the Veloce on the car.

MOMO's current Mod. 69 is very similar, also 350mm in diameter and having back finger grooves but wrapped with black suede leather...

If by that you mean the "fingers dents", yes, this wheel has them. I don't have a picture atm...

Hello 275GTB. You wouldn't happen to have another 360 steering wheel lying around that I can fit to my 355 would you?

I installed a Momo Monte Carlo on my F355 yesterday, Hill Engineering adapter and horn button from Ricambi. Just over $400.00, easy install.

    Further:
I’ve seen instructions requiring a T-27 Torx security bit for airbag removal. I found that my ‘98 F355 needed a T-30.
To satisfy the airbag removal, I used a 4.7 ohm resistor, in series with a 1.0 amp pico fuse.
Momo wheel, Monte Carlo MCL35BK1B (350mm). They also offer a 320mm.
Steering wheel adapter, Hill Engineering SWS-355B, Horn Button, 157588, (Thank you, Ricambi America)...

+1...i made the same mistake and stripped out the head of that security bolt. It is a security T-30.
Thanks for posting the airbag info. That should be a big help to many!

Looks like a 348 wheel to me. Of course it's not a 355 wheel, but it certainly looks like a 348 wheel....at least 348s prior to the GTS/GTB which got perforated leather and an embossed 348 logo.

    Overpriced though for sure.

Checking further, it is a 348/Mondial, not a 355, but would fit. Yes overpriced. I saw it a few weeks ago, it’s coming down in price.

Sorry to hear that you stripped yours. I first tried a T-27 and was getting a little nervous as it wasn’t working. Even with the T-30 you have to get the angle of the driver just right. That original f355 wheel sure is an ugly beast though. Easy enough to put back on for resale if necessary.

Thanks a lot for the lead Lanab. I have contacted the seller and purchased the steering wheel. It was kind of difficult to close the deal as the seller would not ship anywhere outside Europe in addition to not having a PayPal account so I had to have the wheel sent to a friend's address in Spain and had to do a wire transfer. The thing was expensive however I had been looking for a Europe spec F355 steering wheel for more than a year now so I just went ahead and grabbed it. These steering wheels look exponentially better than the airbag US spec ones.

The steering wheel does look to have some wear however I can always have it restored. If anybody knows of a good place to have a leather steering wheel refurbished, I would very much appreciate any leads in case I do need them down the road.

    Stay safe!
