Post the below thread in 328 form. The suggestion came back to post in Texas form, so here it goes.

Looking at a 328GTS to add to the stable, would like to have some friendly suggestions of who the group would recommend to preform a PPI on a 328GTS. Very little in the way of maintenance records (first sign to be wary). However, did speak with the last mechanic to work on the car but he just did a major service one time. No other history other than his recollection from 3 years ago.

    Texas!
Ferrari of Houston doesn't do PPIs, too much liability for too little dough.

Few dealers do and a constantly growing number of independents do either. It was so bad from a legal exposure perspective an insurance company approached me to offer a policy protecting me from liability in PPI's. I asked them why would I want to buy a policy protecting me for a service I don't want to provide anyway?

Interesting—. I suspect a ppi with the proper weasel legal words could provide the ppi service and protect the mechanic. Sad buyers of exotics want to get litigious w a mechanic on his observations.

Protect me??????? WTF do I even want PROTECTION? Are you listening??? There is no money in it. It is an inconvenience and creates nothing more than pissed off people. One side or the other will come out hating me and for what? To help you? I am going to get to know some lawyers real well to help you? Is that for real????

If you want help go see a priest.
