You skimped on pics of the dry aged prime rib eyes in favor of pimento cheese?!? Lol. That is my wife's culinary guilty pleasure. Her mom used to make her sammies out of pimento cheese when she got home from grade school...T
Image Unavailable, Please Login Pizza! Cane Rosso, FCA happy hour. Quite good. The hostess gave me a little tour of the pizza oven. Impressive. She said it was shipped all the way from Italy. 900 F, 90 seconds to cook a whole pie. Lot of fun...T
How was the Keralan fried chicken? I've seen a few YouTube videos on that, and it looks insanely good...T
Holy carp, I had to do a double take on the Egg picture, it was so orange, it didn't register at first! Eating good...T
the chicken itself (under the coating) was perhaps the most moist fried chicken I've had. The flavors were good and the coating was very crunchy. So, really a plus level dish. That said, I was hoping for OMFG amazing, which it wasn't.
In fact, too orangy...it made the hollandaise sauce look like orange juice, which was unappetizing. Gotta get some good 'ol highly pasteurized mass-produced eggs next time
What, in your opinion, would have pushed it to OMFG heights? I've been watching a bunch of cooking videos by folks from the Subcontinent, trying to improve my skills. I particularly like Latif's Inspired. T
Go to Waitrose or Sainsbury's! Those are the only two supermarkets I recall from when I was in the UK 20 years ago. T
yup, both still here. And Whole Foods and countless small place around the neighborhoods, which we tend to go to most of the time.

Inspired by this thread, I was craving old school red-sauce Spaghetti and Meatballs! I googled around to see if there was someplace nearby to go out for dinner...but decided to cook instead. This was a last minute idea to cook before Ania headed to work for the nightshift - so time was limited. Thus the meatballs were store-bought, as was the base of the tomato sauce and the pasta. I did add some things to the sauce to flavor it up and I made some fresh-baked garlic bread. Drinking a very nice 2004 Margaux (the region, not the Chateau!) with it. All-in-all, pretty good dinner. I've read good things about Wegmans. I think NbyNW has said good things about them on this thread. We don't have them in Texas, but the one my wife and I went to in/near Cherry Hill (I think) was pretty good and had a huge range of tasty looking items...T. Edit - those steaks look outrageous!
We get all our chicken from Wegman’s. It’s chicken, and we get their organic version. Some sausages too. Basic pork and beef too. For most of our grilling beef (choice) and pork we go to a smaller grocery store, Graul’s Market, with a butcher, cut to what we want - Wegman’s here doesn’t cut any meat besides their dry age stuff. Crazy, right. All that on their shelves is pre-packaged. We really need to do Costco for prime beef. And I really want to try ribs on the BGE. Stay tuned, it’s not far off.
Beef or pork ribs? Wife wanted tofu and peanut sauce. Sure, why the heck not! This recipe, but broccoli not cauliflower. Peanut sauce, chicken broth, onions, carrots, garlic powder, tomato, broccoli. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Baked tofu. Then braise the fried tofu in the peanut sauce concoction for a short while. T
What's easier for a beginner? The beef ribs at Costco are huge. I need to look over posts and make notes on the different methods and times.
She wanted chicken with pesto but not pasta. Sigh. So I mixed a bunch of veggies. It was okay, but the pesto just separated into oil. Meh. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Just salads...… Heading to central Washington State this morning. I'll be breaking my diet all weekend.
