Sorry for my ignorance, what do you refer to when you mention window pins?

Did anyone here take note of this BAT auction? It completely blows my mind that this manual M in Rosso Corsa didn't even crack $50K!!! Mike Sheehan pointed this out to me.

    https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2001-ferrari-456m/

Anyone know where the car is today? I didn't think there WAS a Rosso Corsa manual!

No shields/no Daytonas, like every other manual M I've seen, and the interior is black, but what a 456M to have!

Still looking into the yellow manual, BTW, but it is way overpriced.

Paul, I have not experienced window problems. Mine is a very late production car and maybe this will continue to save me. So, if my explanation here is incorrect, I hope others will chime in and point out the error of my ways. That having been said, I understand that there can be issues between the window motor and the gear segment. The assembly area is shown in the red circle on this exploded parts diagram from Ricambi.

I think what scares people was the repaint and miss fire, that said it wouldn't scare me!

Yeah, if I could have picked it up for a song, I've sorted one out before, so no problem, just some bucks.

    George,

That red (repainted) car needs between $20-30 grand to sort. And that’s just for the KNOWN problems.
Seller was very cagey and wasn’t forthcoming about some of them.
It was likely in an accident, and it’s got a CEL that they can’t diagnose.

I wouldn’t take for anything but parts.

I've got an interest so started doing some research. It needs rear struts and the associated rubber pieces for the rear suspension. It also needs a replacement steering rack. The seller (trade in) had an estimate of a bit over $10k for the work.... Can't quite decide if it's still a real value....

    LAST I CHECKED...Marin Mazda, Northern CA, has a 1995 Ferrari 456 GT six-speed manual with 34,463 miles at $57,998.

That's pretty close to fair price I think. Mine has 42K miles in similar green metallic for which I coincidentally paid $42K in Aug 2016 . With maintenance and various recommended upgrades over past 4 years, I'm in it for a grand total of $70k (including one full service / belt change). Considering fuel, insurance, maintenance, I'm at $13-$15 per mile driven so far! Most of those have been glorious unregretted miles. (Of course today I heard an unfamiliar noise upon startup, but I haven't investigated that yet.)

Who here is very versed with the current price trend of a 456M GTA? I am in the market for a one and would like to know the point of view from a few of you who are familiar with the cars market and potential current repair needed... I had a PPI recently done and would like some outsider opinions. Shoot me a PM

Blu Pozzi is a rare color which suits this car perfectly. Nice examples always find new stables for a good price.
