The plastic levers have proven to be fragile and it would be useful to find a stronger replacement from an Alfa or Fiat (instead of having to order a full electronic unit from Maranello with switches that might break soon after again). Below the part numbers of Magneti Marelli...who wants to join this treasure hunt? You can see it was originally designed for a 4 window car and the switches simply plug into the base. I've never thought the switches on the 599 to be a problem and I've not heard of anyone having the problem you are speaking of.

Has anyone here had this problem??

Forgot to specify - this is for a 612 - not sure how different they are from a 599

I need to fix the window switches and would like to know how to safely remove the door panel. Would you mind giving me some quick steps to follow? Thanks

Sorry, I didn't do it myself, it was done by an independent Ferrari shop. You might try having either a dealer do it or an auto body shop.

Just removed my door (the rod that connects the handle to the latch had decided to unscrew itself ). From memory:

X3 screws at the bottom of the door
X2 plastic plugs on the edge of the door seal then pull back seal from side of door
Pop off triangle behind mirror and undo x1 nut for door card
Rotate door vent connector then undo x1 bold inside vent
Lift door handle and undo Allen bolt to remove trim
    Undo cables from door handle
Undo x3 bolts behind door handle
Pop door card off plastic clips then lift away from door.

You’ll need to have the window down to get the card back on. This is due to the position you need to get it into to get the top clips on.
