When I first got the FF it was so great there was no need to play with it. I thought I never would. WRONG.

8000 miles later the wheels looked too small/narrow and the chassis looked and felt too high. A little floaty for my taste in all modes.

Tom at Lucent (Fchat recommended, incredible skills and knowledge) has made it greater than ever. Lowered 14mm on stock springs, 15mm front and 18 mm rear spacers. Slight camber adjustment with the new alignment. Turn in slightly faster. Still the original MPSS tires with 9200 miles.

Wow, it's never felt better. What a joy the drive I just took ! Like a new car, super happy.

More planted at speed, better cornering, and overall just feels right on the suspension. Highly recommended.

Do you happen to have pics of the before/after? I'd be curious about how visible that change is.

Not a specific before/after. Although I have posted the car here previously.

It's a subtle drop. 14mm is 0.551 inch. Not enough to make life difficult. Here are a few quick afters in the garage.

(also: cold pressures up a little always, around 36 and 39 psi)

The lowering looks perfect. The spacers look better than stock...but to my eye, the 18's on the back are just a smudge too much. Maybe try the 15's on the back? In which case 15's or 11's on the front...though I'm biased!

Looks great. The rear offsets look very aggressive. Similar to the setup on my r8. Some people thought it was a bit much but it made the car appear more low and wide..

For me, the FF too low makes the whole thing look top heavy and the rear end look larger. The gap above the tires becomes pinched making the gap around the tire sides seem to flare out oddly. To each their own, the center of gravity is happy there I'm sure.

Agree for sure, could be 15 front and 15 rear with a 14 or 15 mm drop. Fronts need to be at least 12 so there can be a lip. 11 and lower just a floating ring.

Am experimenting with the slightly wide 18s in the rear ... a little too wide is cool for now.

How do you lower the car with the stock springs?

I lowered mine about 10mm as well with the stock springs.
Even the 4 seats Ferrari are true sport car with adjustable coilovers.
I come from the Porsche world where only the GT2/GT3 run adjustable coilovers.
Notice the FF are often lower at the right side vs the left side from the factory, surprisingly much more than the "weight by wheels" balance needs.

First you check the 4 wheels arch heights on a flat surface (mine and some friend's Ferrari were up to 9mm higher on the left!).
So you bolt off the wheels, use a spring compressor tool to ease the spring tension and de-tighten your springs twin nuts a few turns.
You adjust this way each wheel arch height, you can keep the left side 2mm higher than the right side if you often drive your car alone to balance the gravity center. (The inverse if in GB of course)
I also like to "drop" a very little the front vs the rear (2-3mm), it gives a nice agressive stance.
If your front is higher vs your rear it looks ridiculous IMHO, and it is often the way our cars are adjusted when stock.

I heard on another chat forum that using stock springs to lower reduces spring tolerance and can not be a great ride. Better to replace the springs with something like Novitec. They are about $1700 for 4 and about $1200 labour. Not that expensive to get a great look and ride

I lowered 1/2" on stock which is fine. For $3000 Novitec is TOO LOW for my taste.

Novitec has adjustable sleeves like coilovers unless I'm wrong.

    I didn't measure it sorry. At a guess I'd say 20mm

Wow, I thought the FF looked amazing already and I haven’t even picked my 2012 up yet, but a little lower and spacers, really makes a difference.

Ive no idea how to lower it even with the instructions here but Im going to think about getting it done, along with spacers.

    Can’t wait

    Thanks

    Carl
