Do people really choose to attend a sporting venue or not based on the venue itself?

I would hope not. If they do, they aren't true sports fans.....cause I would go watch a game anywhere. I'm going to watch the product on the ice (or on the field), not admire the facility I'm in.

Will Ovechkin get to 700 goals tonight? Would be nice to do it in front of the home crowd.

It is truly remarkable that he is doing it in this age, where goalies look like the Michelin Man as opposed to the skeleton looking goalies from the 80's

'Canes get outdoor game for February 2021. Local word is Pens will be opponent, with Caps second choice. 57,000 seats for hockey. I'll be on the red line!

I've been catching up on some hockey the last few weeks. I've seen some fairly brutal officiaiting.

Don't forget who your coach is. They may look good now, but he is a dud especially in the playoffs

Bob, the Canes-Leafs game was one of the most exciting non playoff games I have ever watched. Under the new rules, they pull a 42 year old guy away from the bar, suit him up, sew his name ( AYERS) on the sweater, and in he goes with more than half the game to play. Ayers had never played in a game above Junior "B". Tranna totally stinks it up, Canes score 6, Ayers is first star and Leafs' fans give him extended Standing O. That's Hockey, Baby!

It depends on what side of the coin you see.

IMO, its an outstanding story. I heard about what happened and tuned into the game on the internet just trying to see what was going on. The Canes did an awesome job of stepping up to protect him BUT the Leafs just FOLDED. No energy at all. Snakebit.

Just to give a perspective here, it's like the Dodgers put the Peanut vendor in as pitcher and he won the game. Pretty amazing story.

Ayers experience last night was amazing for more than just the resulting W. Here’s more of the details including the fact he works for the Leafs and was a kidney transplant patient LINK.

Leafs lose to a 42 year old Zamboni operator. They truly suck and there is no hope.

That was exactly my point. Ayers was there and did a great job for what he was put into. But Toronto just seemed to fold up.

Story going round that Leafs' head coach Keefe essentially "stopped coaching" in 3rd period to "teach his team a lesson." To be fair, the Canes were tenacious for the entire 3rd period and played like their pants were on fire.

Dallas and Boston have played some exciting games over the last several years, and last night was no exception.

There are four real powerhouses in the East and that excludes the Isles that I don't think anybody wants to play in round one.

We have a BRUTAL schedule closing against everyone who is in the hunt. Vancouver losing to the Senators last night helped. VGK have made some excellent trades. Getting rid of back up goalie Subban for Lehner while only paying like 6% of his salary was brilliant. Martinez from the Kings was also huge as it gave our defense more experience.

The fans liked Subban but he was incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes it was like his head was not in the game. Now they have someone to platoon with Fluery. Instead of #1 and #2 you have 1a and 1b.

    Disaster for the Golden Knights

Mark Stone is injured -- no date for his return. Stone is without question the best player on the team.
