    Mine are black. Perhaps it picked up some sky blue reflection?????

    I thought that, but it's very clearly blue in person. The camera isn't the best at picking up the color.

    That's a known problem with black anodizing -- when the anodized thickness is too small, the blue components of the black dye are absorbed preferentially and/or some chemistry foo happened. Looking "purplish" is another complaint. Try an internet search using something like "Why does black anodizing look blue sometimes?".

    Thank you Steve, I will look into that. Just something I had noticed with the car. I'm adding it to my mental list of 500 little problems that I will fix eventually.

    After reading about anodizing, it makes sense that the black color would break down into blue over time. So the driver's side got more sunlight than the passenger side and it faded to blue.
