Getting excited about the FuelFed Swap and the Chicago Car Show -

Tom - I was looking at Continental's inventory and they have a silver 2005 Maserati Spyder with a 6 speed manual. Is that your car?

No I think that is a Gransport Spyder. Nice looking car, I saw it sitting there last week.

I know I will go. A lot of people on here end up going if they have time as the show normally has a few good cars on display. I am hoping for more showcars this year.

Not much on their web site.

    The Gransport was cambiocorsa only.

    Interesting...

I’ll be going to the show - mostly just to look around but I am glad to see the new Defender will be there. We are looking at possibly replacing our Macan S, and I am always looking at getting a Tacoma. Always wanted one but for one reason it another have never gotten one!

Any word on Continental's spring event for collectors? Didn't see anything on their website.

Tommy? You doing the model contest again?

The open house Expo will be on March 21st 2020 at Continental Auto Sports. I will have a model display this year that you are more than welcome to bring models for.

The Chicago auto show is not worth the time. BMW and Mercedes are not there. Alfa has nothing new. Maserati is not there (But then they have nothing new..).
Porsche was there with the Taycan but these are being delivered already. They had 2 992, Cayenne, Pana et 718 GT4.

Corvette had 2 C8 so i guess if you want to see it now and not in a few weeks, then go.

Im going again as i promised my 2 young sons but otherwise would not bother at all. You see more cool cars driving through Lake Forest on a sunny day.

No Mercedes or BMW's? What the hell. They are as common as Honda's around her. Wonder how they justified not coming. Surprised Alfa did not bring their back marker Sauber F1 car again. Saw a C8 last summer at Road America and will see the C8 racing version up there in August.

I guess this year you have to go to Geneva if you want to see the new stuff.

    Geneva, Switzerland or Geneva, Illinois?

    ;)

Oh, and you missed a few. No...

    Bentley
    Bugatti
    Ferrari
    Lamborghini
    Lotus
    Rolls-Royce

I'm in Chicago this weekend [Gold Coast] I'm sure there's more interesting cars on Rush Street.

Plus I'll use the $13 admission and $198.72 parking money that I saved at Tavern on Rush.

Given the current healthcare threat I would imagine the open house expo at Continental will not take place?

Didn't see anything on their website. For me it is a no-go as we are no longer supposed to gather with more than 10 people at a time. At least till April.

They're cancelling funerals today in my town.

I'm sure there's a punch line here somewhere.

Maybe they should reschedule for May or June and not cancel?? As far as I know it's still on but that may change.

I can't imagine they would proceed. Would be irresponsible and most likely draw no crowds.

Reschedule for the summer. I wouldn't go for June since every other cancelled event is now rescheduling for June. It'll be the busiest month of the year.

They do not have time to reschedule for this year, so they will organize the 2021 Expo in possibly January. Ferrari Expo 2020 has been cancelled.

42nd Annual Ferrari Literature, Art & Model Expo
    Saturday, March 21st: Cancelled
    Dear Members,

Given the circumstances around COVID-19, we have sadly chosen to cancel the Art & Lit Expo scheduled next weekend at Continental Autosports. At this point, we still expect to hold events in Indy for the Ferrari Challenge, but will let you know if the schedule changes.

We apologize for having to cancel but look forward to seeing you at an event this spring.
