Hmmmm....didn't you have an issue with Art?? Did he not use your car as a donor car without your permission and legal actions were involved??...or something to that degree??

Mine will be headed there in March. I will be in SA on business in the coming weeks and plan to go by, see the shop, meet the team, and maybe get a spin in one they've already finished. Can't wait.

Have you gone for the “original parts” option, or the reproduction parts?

Massive saving to be had if the quality is on a par with the original Ferrari parts.

I bought the OEM parts. I bought the parts through Art many months back, before the availability of the machined parts.

from the gatedsix site: $23990 for OEM parts, $12990 for the machined aftermarket parts. Plus installation and transport costs.

Of course, much closer to your number if you source the parts from a wrecked car, and do the conversion yourself.

Can't really understand that stick shift obsession. It took Ferrari years of R&D to come up with that beautiful FGear and people want to go back to manual.
I understand that 360 and before is bad. I get that. I would, and that's the only exception look for 360 stick shift but f430 is great with the paddles!
Same with the Porsches..before pdk I get it. After? Not really

"Beautiful FGear"??? I think many would disagree with this. If it was really so beautiful, then no need to move on to DCT! Plus, the issues that can arise from the F1 in a car of this age are much more than the gated.

I also don't agree with the concept that the 430 F1 system is great, while the 360 is bad. If the 360 is bad (even with the CS TCU), then the 430 is somewhat better than bad..... but certainly not great.

You may have a better argument with the Porsche PDK, but that is a newer, dual clutch system in relation to the older, single clutch Ferrari F1.

It’s purely down to emotions. The F1 is superior hands down when driven actively. However in traffic or city driving I would rather have a manual. But then again the downshifts on the F1 are addictive.

I can’t understand some of these F1 comments. I’ve owned manual and F1 360’s. I’ve owned PDK Porsche’s and my current daily is an AMG with DCT 7 speed.

The F1 360 is brilliant. I must confess mine is setup beautifully by Aldous and Ed at AV and I have the CS TCU.. so maybe not a fair comparison. My only other drive in an F1 had a CS TCU also but I knew then that the F1 was my preference for my next 360. Sitting in traffic is a breeze... not jumpy at all. On WOT the gear changes in sport are awesome and the down changes feel just perfect... I can’t fault it.
