I don't know that I'd argue much (had a white over black P-car 964), but my wife abhors white cars. If not for that? I would be scrounging for cash to see if I could swing it. GLWS!
These XJ are great. I'm currently shopping for one. Is this one still available? 2013 was the trans upgrade which was pretty desirable.
This is 2012 with 5.0 ( last year of 5.0) I never had any transmission issues. 2013 they did away with the 5.0 and took away all the massive horsepower. Here is a link for 2013: https://www.motortrend.com/cars/jaguar/xj-series/2013/2013-jaguar-xj-v6-supercharged-first-drive/
I must respectfully disagree and claim the 5.0 V8 was available in 2013+ with the 8 speed. That said, I have the 6 speed and its great. I'm sure the 8 is nicer but never an issue and no complaints from me.
Asking a dumb question here: with a private sale like this, would one have to pay CA sales tax, then sales tax again when it got back to one's home state? How would one drive it back? Would you need to visit the CA DMV and pay them for a temp tag if you wanted to drive it?
If it's still registered, which I'm assuming it is, you just drive it to your home state and register and pay sales tax there. No California sales tax needed.
I have committed to a verbal agreement with Fcaht member to conclude this deal by Tuesday of next week. Today, the car will get fresh engine oil change and quick look over by my jag tech and get her road ready.
Damn. I've been working on my wife trying to convince her that a Jaguar was just the thing we needed to buy right now. Timing was off here as we've nowhere to put it. Congrats on the pending sale (thread tags updated) and hope the new owner enjoys it. All the best, Andrew.
Hey Andrew, At this price it was not going to last long but I know what you mean... Lots of car for the money. I had the oil service completed yesterday and quick look over by my tech and as expected the car checked out ok. It will need brakes, and few small items to be addressed that I could not see without lifting her up in the air. I shared many videos and pictures with the buyer and we are still scheduled to close mid week. The buyer is super guy, I will let him introduce himself if he chooses to.
I love the interiors of these cars, the best interior on the market today IMO. How long have you owned it? What's your favorite part of the car?
Man you took the words out of my mouth... After my Testarossa accident, I was limited on options so my truck was the easiest on my back. I need something classy, comfortable and easy to get in and out with a little kick at the pedal so I test drove many including BMW, Benz, Austin and nothing felt like this Jag. I purchased her back in 2014 with low miles, I have no regrets. Now that my back is better, F430 keeps me entertained and gets me in front of high end clients and my GL450 and Prius do the job of getting me around town, it was time to part with the Jag. The list of my likes are too long but it all started with the interior and then power she delivers.
